Essential Responsibilities and Duties
- Perform daily financial transactions
- Perform projects’ balance reconciliation with MOU# so as not to exceed the specified budget
- Conduct partner reconciliation (financial reports, statement of account cash receipts, delivery of invoices)
- Conduct supplier reconciliation (balances, payments, invoices)
- Reconcile bank statements
- Review monthly financial tracking tool for each project to ensure budget control and management
- Responsible for proper archiving of financial documents
- Reconcile all project balance sheet accounts every month
- Keeping account books and systems up to date
- Handle monthly, quarterly and annual closings
- Assist in producing field income and expenditure analysis and schedules for annual, quarterly and monthly reports
- Undertake financial reviews of field financial reports, follow-up on queries and actively engage with programme and field staff to explore potential issues
- Responsible for the maintenance of the finance information/data
- Assist with the preparation of agreements, review of reports and programme budgets
- Assist with programme costing and financial monitoring of matching income and expenditure
- Work and apply best-accepted accounting practices, develop and progress in accounting techniques
Function Specific Experience
- Experience of producing financial and management information
- Knowledge of financial software such Quick book
- Good understanding of accounting and reporting
- Good knowledge of Microsoft Office tools, specifically MS Word and Excel
- High degree of communication skills
Industry Related Experience
- Previous experience in working with NGOs
- Previous experience as an LRC volunteer is an asset
