Senior Researcher on Minorities and Ethnic Groups / Laws and Policies Sector

The Lebanese Foundation for Permanent Civil Peace (LFPCP) is seeking for a Senior Researcher with rich experience on the Laws and Policies field to work and conduct data collection and data analysis.

The Researcher will develop the Questionnaire and data collection and other tools of the research in collaboration with LFPCP team.

The principle objective of the assignment is to conduct research through collecting data and information on Religious Pluralism, Racial and Ethnic Equity. This task will be conducted by a senior researcher assessing pluralism and diversity in one sector in particular: Laws and Policies in Lebanon. The research process includes several tasks – listed in Section V - that will lead to a study identifying the existing resources and efforts in Laws and Policies, regarding specific ethnic groups:  Druze, Assyrians, Syriac, and Kurds; and/or how these groups manifest their existence and presence through these Laws and Policies.

Mainly the researcher shall:

•             Provides an overview of existing laws and policies (including their respective implementation plans if applicable) to protect members of racial and/or ethnic minorities and penalize discrimination.

•             Provide a tailored action plan / list of recommendations per ethnic group identifying laws or implementation plans that could be introduced or reformed to protect members of racial and/or ethnic minorities or penalize discrimination.
