Senior Legal Expert with deep knowledge in the Religious Courts and the Children Rights

LFPCP is recruiting a senior expert specialized in the religious courts in Lebanon, with an emphasis on international legal instruments, international human rights standards, and/or juridical trial principles, to conduct a desk review and develop a training curriculum on Children’s Rights in the Lebanese religious courts. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in law, human rights, religious courts in Lebanon, and experience in conducting a desk review, interviews, research, and developing training curriculum.

The principal objective of this assignment is to conduct a desk review on the religious courts in Lebanon with a specific emphasis on Children’s Rights and to develop a training curriculum tailored for these courts, covering Children’s Rights with reference to international legal instruments, international human rights standards, and/or juridical trial principles. The desk review will be conducted through research and collecting data and information on the status of Children’s Rights at their courts. The development of the training curriculum will be implemented in interrelated steps throughout the project lifetime. This task will be conducted by a senior expert who will be responsible for assessing the standards of Children’s Rights at the work of the religious courts in Lebanon and carrying out the development and drafting of the training curriculum for these courts. The curriculum will be tailored to the religious courts in Lebanon including: Sunni courts, Shiaa Courts, Druze Courts, Maronite Courts, Orthodox Courts and Catholic Courts, etc.

How to apply

Applicants should have a proven, long-standing experience in content development, law, religious courts in Lebanon, human rights with a focus on Children’s Rights, and a proficient level of Arabic and English.
