Job Summary

To assist in implementing, with input from, and in coordination with LADE team, the communication short and long term strategies for LADE within agreed timetables and budgets, ensuring integration with the initiative’s strategies, and targeting key audiences to build both national and international profile for LADE

 

Strategy

Identify and build new national and international communication opportunities for LADE; in close coordination with the executive director.

Develop working relationships within Media and advance communication strategy at all levels to create the maximum impact.

Delegate spokespersons with media organization in coordination with LADE’s executive director.

Ensure the development of messages that reinforce LADE brand/identity and attract media attention through a range of documents, publications and electronic services.

Monitor the preparation of LADE’s communication tools from conceptualization to production – Annual Report, web site,  brochures, fact sheets.

Network effectively with regional partners, and LADE staff to capture stories and information that feeds into communications tools.

Ensure that LADE is nationally and widely recognized through the development of a clear and consistent brand and set of messages.

 

Media

Develop and maintain positive working relationships with local and international media

Liaise and cooperate with media for work related issues such as advocacy, monitoring, awareness, LADE events and activities.

Maintain and supervise LADE’s website and other platforms.

Coordinate technical and logistical preparation for LADE press Conferences, Network’s Conference.

 

Communications products

Work with the program team, write, edit, produce and distribute newsletters, brochures, fact sheets, leaflets, films and other communication products to disseminate LADE vision and goals, according to the communication strategy, ensuring that all communications materials comply with LADE’s visual brand identity and meet the needs of LADE strategic vision

Coordinate production of all public LADE reports and briefings, in liaison with colleagues managers and Coordinators.

Coordinate the production of LADE’s monthly newsletter.

 

Experience

At least 4 years of experience in media and/or journalism

At least 3 years of experience in NGO work

Commitment to LADE’s Identity & values

Creative in developing solutions to problems

Basic knowledge of graphic design is a plus
