1. Key responsibilities
Key responsibilities for this position under the guidance of the Office Director and KfW headquarter include:
- maintaining excellent relations to project partners and clients (ministries, municipalities, municipal utilities, other relevant actors in the field of intervention);
- assisting our project partners and clients in order to achieve an efficient and speedy implementation of sector programmes and projects;
- maintaining regular communication and debriefings with the project management team in the head office (Frankfurt);
- continuously monitoring and reporting on sector developments, performing project progress reviews and visits and representing KfW at conferences/ meetings in Lebanon and potentially Syria, as well as writing/editing sector and project documents, correspondence, minutes of meetings etc. in English language;
- liaising with bilateral/multilateral donors and other relevant stakeholders (UN-organisations, NGO) in Lebanon and potentially Syria, maintaining a close overview of their activities in the relevant sector, as well as identifying opportunities for cooperation.
- Planning and accompanying duty missions to Lebanon.and Syria
- Preparedness to travel to Syria is a plus
- Any other task as delegated in the framework of responsibilities.
Sector responsibility will be allocated depending on applicant’s background and office’s need.
2. Job related profile
The candidate required will meet the following profile:
- University degree (MSc/MBA equivalent) preferably in economics, business/public administration, environmental/civil engineering or any other socio-economic field; any other university studies alternatively welcome,
- 5 years of related experience in project management in Lebanon, preferably gained with an international organisation or relevant national institution;
- excellent computer literacy skills (MS Office);
- strong analytical as well as reporting, communication and self-organisation skills;
- strong negotiation skills, persuasive power, integrity, autonomy in the day-to-day work, hands-on attitude, as well as clear ability to work in a team;
- fluency in Arabic and English language (both written and spoken);
- experience in local and international tender procedures as well as financial structuring of projects of advantage.
Term of Employment/Training
The employment period would be from 1 April, 2025 (or at earlier/later, as defined with the successful applicant) for a fixed period of two years (extension on mutual agreement possible).
KfW provides on-the-job training, as well as an training course at KfW Headquarters in Frankfurt for onboarding.
