PSEA and Child Safeguarding Expert

Scope of work:
The PSEA and Child Safeguarding Expert will develop training and guidance materials and deliver trainings for frontline workers.
Main Tasks and Responsibilities (include but are not limited to)
- Preparation of training material on PSEA and Child safeguarding for all frontline workers in MAKANI’s centers. The one-day training material will include definitions of CS and PSEA ; risk assessment for activities ; general guidelines for safeguarding children’s data, pictures and especially those with disabilities.
- Preparation of a guidance for community care workers on how to facilitate a session on CS and PSEA with children and caregivers, including FGD about safety / accessibility of MAKANI’s program.
- Preparation of training material for community care workers on CS and PSEA.
- 70 days of training for all frontliner workers in 70 MAKANI centers.
- 5 trainings for community care workers on CS and PSEA.
- Collaborate closely with KAFA’s Child Protection Unit and other stakeholders to align the safeguarding policy with national child protection strategy.
- Provide progress updates and comprehensive documentation.
- Attend relevant meetings and provide feedback to enhance KAFA’s protection and safeguarding frameworks.
Required Qualifications (skills and Experience):
- Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in Public Policy, Human Rights, or a related field.
- A minimum of three years of experience in PSEA and child safeguarding, child protection, or GBV-related policy development.
- Expertise in developing and implementing safeguarding policies within collective or community settings.
- Demonstrated experience in conducting trainings and facilitating group discussions.
- Knowledge of local context, especially the needs and vulnerabilities of women and children in collective shelters.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with fluency in English and Arabic.
- Strong documentation skills with the ability to translate complex concepts into practical policy measures.
- Computer literacy, particularly in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Proven ability to work collaboratively and engage youth and community members in policy development.
