The social worker will be responsible for the identification of the direct target group in the project “Her Potential, Her Power."
The social worker will do outreach work in the communities, including in the informal, to ensure that all community members are informed about the project activities.
The social worker supervises the vulnerability assessment of each of the target children.
The social worker will collaborate closely with the educators and the project coordinator. The social worker will report to the project coordinator as well. The social worker will be based in Saida.
Task #1 – Identification and outreach activities
Plan and follow-up on the identification and outreach activities/report and justify in case of drop-out for education activities.
Identify the direct target group and do further outreach work in the community.
Apply the vulnerability selection criteria by following the guidelines developed by the Child Protection Cluster/UNICEF and ASA's internal procedures and methods.
Share the goal and the main activities with caregivers and children.
Identify the most committed children and clarify the requirements.
Follow up on the participation in the activities.
Update the database/attendance sheet on a weekly basis.
Identify and outreach constantly throughout the project through home visits, phone calls, SMS campaigns, newsletters, and leaflets, direct approach to the caregiver/child and local stakeholders, among others, with the support of the other team members, especially in identifying the needs.
Task #2 – Case identification activities, individual support, and referral activities
Ensure a smooth referral process with external actors (provision of information, follow-up with beneficiaries, etc.).
Ensure that the field teams have a clear understanding of the different referral pathways as well as the different services provided by ASA and other stakeholders in the area.
Task #3 – Quality standards
Ensure that recognized international best practices, ASA's Safeguarding and protection policies, code of conduct, and PSEAH as well as methodologies developed by ASA's Education program, are applied in the support provided to the children, the caregivers, and the community members.
Task #4 – Coordination, collaboration, and networking
Develop ASA's network in the area to increase opportunities for external referrals.
If any beneficiaries are absent for more than three consecutive days, the social worker must contact the parents to understand the reason for the absence, document the case in a detailed report, and take the necessary steps to encourage the return to the sessions.
Collaborate, if required, with all team members to ensure the success of the activities' implementation.
Task #5 – Educational Awareness and Campaigns
Conduct awareness sessions on the importance of education and other related subjects for students and parents.
Develop and implement educational awareness campaigns targeting both parents and students.
Engage the community in discussions and activities that promote the value of education.
Communicate with the community mobilizers and collaborate with the team to ensure the success of the awareness campaigns.
Task #6– Documentation and Media Management
A monthly report based on the format that will be provided by the project coordinator should be submitted on time.
Weekly attendance sheets should be reviewed by the social worker and track any challenges that will be reflected in this review.
Regularly take photos of the beneficiaries participating in activities, ensuring they meet the ASA’s guidelines.
Upload the photos to the association’s drive, ensuring each file includes the title, date, and name of the person conducting the activity.
Additional Responsibilities:
Support the development of project proposals in collaboration with the Education Coordinator and Program Coordinator.
Perform any other tasks related to the education program as needed.
