INMAA was founded in 2003 in Beqaa- Lebanon, with a mission to support the needs of the local community, and a main focus on stateless individuals and Bedouin communities who are the most marginalized population in Lebanon. In 2006, INMAA launched its first Emergency Response due to the severe Israeli Attack on Lebanon and started helping displaced individuals from the South of Lebanon by securing them shelter and basic needs assistance. Later on, in 2008, INMAA marked its first appearance as a research focal entity with its collaboration with the American University of Beirut and the Refugee Studies Centre at Oxford University, targeting the Bedouins. This project was essential, as it addressed the basic healthcare needs of communities that had long been neglected by the government. On the other hand, since the onset of the conflict in Syria in 2011, INMAA has been at the forefront of providing urgent assistance to families in need, focusing on supporting vulnerable populations in hard-to-reach areas such as Halab, Hamah, Rural Damascus, and other regions, by providing essential aid and services. Meanwhile, the emergency response targeted Syrians who sought refuge in Lebanon. In response to the influx, INMAA provided shelter, basic assistance, and education to an estimated 30,000 Syrian children. Since then, INMAA has continued to respond to the evolving needs of the communities and started properly establishing itself, by managing its educational facility (Al Andalus School) and 3 Healthcare centers in Beqaa area. Furthermore, INMAA has implemented several projects over the years tackling different sectors, in order to support the communities to secure their livelihoods, Education and Health Sector, mainly in times of crisis and emergencies. INMAA has also established the “Lebanese Network for Development and Peace”, a coalition of humanitarian activists and organizations that advocate for human rights, women's rights, and the rights of those who have experienced torture. On the other hand, within The “Al Adel (Arabic of Justice) center”, INMAA is also working to address critical issues related to humanitarian access and mediation. INMAA today maintains a large Network with the international community and continues to support it. At INMAA, our goal is to continue evolving and adapting our programs and initiatives to meet the changing needs of the community and to promote sustainable development in Lebanon.
