Job Title     : Senior Case Worker - SGBV

Reports to         : Case Management Officer

Duty Station       : Based in Akkar but roves in all North and Akkar governorates  

Position Type     : Full Time

 

 

Job Purpose:

 

Act according to the guiding principles of GBV case management including: survivor centered approach, respect of confidentiality, prioritize according to safety concerns, ‘do not harm’, ensure a non-discriminatory approach, act according to the best interest of the child, ensure accountability, respect professional boundaries and avoid conflict of interest.    

  1. Ensure that protection principles are understood, maintained and enforced;
  2. Provide direct support and care for vulnerable case with protection concerns (specifically survivors of gender-based violence), including psychosocial support and case management;
  3. Supervise and manage SGBV Case Worker team.
  4. The SCW should abide by the SGBV national SOPs

 

 Generic Duties:

 

  1. Plan/coordinate with the case management officer and the Case Workers team; and in high-risk cases, in consultation with GBV expert for the North, to avoid duplication
  2. Conduct home visits to assess the living conditions of the cases, when needed / if applicable, and if the survivor/the PoC give her/his consent;
  3. Ensure the provision of emergency cash assistance for the most vulnerable beneficiaries, according to the needs of the beneficiaries, the agreed criteria and the internal procedures and under the supervision of the Case management officer

4. Supervise the correct documentation and compilation of CM forms in accordance with all CM steps and related tools and procedure and ensure proper follow up on case management services

5. Ensure that all high-risk cases are addressed immediately and shared with the CMO for possible intervention.

 

5. Be available to participate in meetings and trainings in and outside the centers including case management meetings and case conferences meetings or any other meetings when required;

6. Undertake field visits (at least minimum once a week) to provide technical guidance and supervision as well as regularly monitoring of the progress of the Protection project activities.

 

 

7. Participate in the recruitment of projects staff and provide objective feedback with regards to staff performance (evaluate performance and delivery against job descriptions), expectations and areas for growth and professional development.

 

8. Accomplish any other similar assignments given by supervisor or the GBV expert.

 

 

Monitoring and Reporting

    1       Provide daily and weekly updates to the Case management officer and/or GBV expert about new cases assessed as per internal rules;

    2       Elaborate on a monthly basis assessment, monitoring tools and send all case management documents to the Case management officer each month;

    3       Elaborate and send the weekly report to the Case management officer.

    4       Collect the data about cases assessed and assisted by case workers in her/his team to update the internal online case management platform (weekly and monthly reporting);

    5       Ensure the effective filing of cases, GBVIMS and other reporting;

    6       Update and report service mapping to PM and Reporting Officer.

7.     Make sure that BIDs are submitted in a timely manner and review it before filtering to the case management officer

 

 

Other Specific Duties:

 

(Can be adapted to the particularities of the job location and the requirement of the project. This section shall be revised whenever a new employee is hired).

 

    1       Monitor and assist the caseworker(s) in the safe spaces and provide evaluations;

    2       Ensure a proper handover to the caseworker(s) when on leave, including a clear plan and division of tasks, approved by the Protection Coordinator;

    3       Review the cases submitted to the online platform by the caseworkers and to make sure that everything is submitted on time and correctly;

    5       Collect the data about cases assessed and assisted by case workers in her/his team to update online case management system for weekly and quarterly reporting in close collaboration with the Information Management support;

    6       Conduct assessments of protection cases for inclusion in cash assistance programs.

 

Outreach and community-based activities:

    1       Conduct awareness raising sessions on protection topics in the centers or in the field;

    2       Coordinate with other organizations and internally to organize and plan awareness raising sessions;

    3       Support the work of the INTERSOS team in identifying and referring protection cases and work with the GBV expert when necessary, to collect information and plan activities and meetings;

    4       Support the organization of specific events or activities inside or outside the centers             

 

 

Education:

 

  • University Degree in Social Work, Psychology or equivalent.

  • Knowledge on the GBVIMS online system.
