Job Title      : Case Worker (SGBV)

Reports to          :  Senior SGBV Case Worker

Duty Station       :  North and Akkar governorates

Job Purpose:

 

Act according to the guiding principles of GBV and Child Protection case management including: survivor centered approach, respect of confidentiality, prioritize according to safety concerns, ‘do not harm’, ensure a non-discriminatory approach, act according to the best interest of the child, ensure accountability, respect professional boundaries and avoid conflict of interest;

 

  1. Ensure that protection principles are understood, maintained and enforced;
  2. Provide direct support and care for vulnerable case with protection concerns (focusing on survivors of gender-based violence), including psychosocial support and case management.

 

Generic Duties:

 

  1. Detect, counsel and follow up individual cases identified by INTERSOS team or referred by other agencies; or through community services and protection monitors where applicable;
  2. Conduct psychosocial assessment of vulnerable cases, including environmental, emotional, behavioral, and social factors as well as resources and strengths that impact the individual well- being;
  3. Conduct home visits to assess the living conditions of the cases, when needed / if applicable, and if the survivor/the PoC give her/his consent;
  4. Ensure coordination and synergy with the main service providers in the area of intervention for prompt referral, follow up and information sharing;
  5. Manage, fill, archive specific forms for cases profiling, referral and weekly reporting ensuring confidentiality, accuracy and timeliness;
  6. Monitor and follow up the outcome of the assistance provided;
  7. Be available to provide basic emotional support for urgent cases;
  8. Manage the hotline according to the internal procedures and under the Senior SGBV Case worker supervision;
  9. Ensure the provision of emergency cash assistance for the most vulnerable clients, according to the needs of the clients, the agreed criteria and the internal procedures and under the supervision of the Senior SGBV Case Worker;
  10. Ensure that data protection protocol is respected;
  11. Be available to participate in meetings and trainings in and outside the centres including case management meetings and case conferences meetings or any other meetings when required by the SCW;
  12. Accomplish any other similar task not here listed if necessary, to the project’s achievement.

 

Specific Duties:

 

  1. Plan with the Case Management officer and SCW to conduct home visits to assess the living conditions of the cases when appropriate, when needed, and if the survivor give her/his consent;
  2. Ensure the preparation of accurate case plans for high-risk cases identified with clearly outcomes and time-frame;
  3. Mapping of services in area of intervention and reporting information to Case Management officer;
  4. Advocate with different institutions and services providers to help the beneficiaries to access needed resources and services;
  5. Implementation of case management in the intervention location in accordance with all CM steps and related tools and procedures as defined through INTERSOS Protection Strategy. addressing high risk cases and sharing with Case Management officer for possible intervention;
  6. Prepare and draft BIAs/BIDs and submit to the CMO for final review. Conduct assessments of protection cases for inclusion in cash assistance programs;
  7. Conduct assessments of protection cases for inclusion in cash assistance programs;
  8. Collect the data about cases assessed and update online case management system for weekly, monthly and quarterly reporting;

 

PSS Activities include:

  1. Participate and collaborate in other activities (recreational, psychosocial, awareness, emotional support groups) conducted on the field when requested by the supervisors;
  2. Support the organization of specific events or activities inside or outside the centres.

 

Monitoring and Reporting:

  1. Provide daily and weekly updates to the Senior SGBV Case worker about new cases assessed;
  2. Contribute to the update of the INTERSOS case management system;
  3. Ensure proper filing of cases, GBVIMS updates and other reporting;
  4. Support the Case Management officer and Senior SGBV CW on the elaboration of the weekly/monthly reports to the Protection Manager and Reporting officer.

Education:

 

  • University Degree in Social Work, Psychology or related field.

 

Competencies: (Knowledge, Skills & Abilities)

 

Professional Competencies:

  • Minimum 1 year of relevant work experience;
  • Computer literacy (Word, Excel);
  • Reporting skills;
  • Driving License.
