The Part time Community-based Psychologist will be responsible for planning and conducting awareness sessions for the community in North. The expected number of sessions is a maximum of 6, with an average timeframe of 1.5 hours per session.

Responsibilities and Essential Functions

  • Develop a dialogue session plan, prepare sessions’ materials and conduct sessions for women and men on stress management, coping with Economic crisis, mental health, parenting skills and messaging on children rights.
  • The sessions are to take place in person with respect to social distancing measures, however due to Covid-19 and constant imposed lockdowns, a shift to an online activity might occur if needed.
  • Provide feedback and reports concerning the targeted groups, including observations and recommendations for future sessions
  • Identify protection concern and make necessary and timely referrals when needed, respecting confidentiality and the beneficiary’s right
  • Ensure timely reporting of the activities to the Project Manager and to the Protection and Accountability Coordinator

Qualifications

Knowledge, skills and abilities:

  • Good organizational skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Self-motivated and initiative taker. 
  • Good report writing skills.
  • Ability to communicate with vulnerable populations.
  • Advanced knowledge in psychosocial / psychological interventions
  • Dynamic personality.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • Fluency in written and spoken Arabic and English

Experience:

  • Minimum of 3 years experience.
  • Previous experience in NGO and humanitarian field is an advantage.
  • Previous experience in working with women and vulnerable populations is an advantage.

Working Conditions

Sessions conducted with the community in El-Mina, North.

Preferable that candidate resides in the North
