Under the overall guidance of the Supply Chain Officer and the direct supervision of the Senior Procurement and Logistics Assistant, the successful candidate will provide reliable and safe driving services to IOM, its officials, and visitors. While ensuring highest standards of discretion and integrity, sense of responsibility, excellent knowledge of protocol and security issues. 

The successful incumbent will be expected to:

1. Ensure that IOM vehicle(s) is used only for official/authorized business, as advised by the supervisor and in accordance with the IOM Policy on the Use of IOM vehicles (IN217).

2. Manage the day-to-day maintenance of the assigned vehicle to ensure roadworthiness of the vehicle. This includes daily check of tyres, brakes, engine oil, fan belt etc.

3. Collect and deliver mail/documents and official correspondence to and from the post office, government agencies, embassies and other institutions as assigned.

4. Find the most direct routing over the best available roads to the destination.

  5. Take proper measurements to reduce potential security threats to IOM officials or property within the immediate vicinity of the vehicle and along transport routes.

6. Ensure that the vehicles are always kept clean, and has full tank prior departure for field trips

  7. Ensure that the vehicles undertake regular service intervals.

  8. Fill the daily log sheet.

  9. Keep records of spare parts of the vehicle and conduct monthly inventory of the spare parts.

 10. Keep a high degree of confidentiality and discreteness in discussions, which involves IOM and its officials.

 11. Ensure that the steps required by the local rules and regulations (pertaining to driving) are taken in case of involvement in an accident.

 12. Perform any other duties that the supervisor may assign.
