  1. Background Information:

The Community Organization for Development and Empowerment-TCODE-INITIATE is a Nongovernmental, nonprofit, youth-oriented organization based in Lebanon and dedicated to assisting vulnerable communities through youth inclusion and empowerment. While keeping youth at its focus of its mission, TCODE-INITIATE continually endeavors in creating comprehensive and inclusive programs aimed towards the empowerment of youth, and its concentric circles of influence.

In the process of delivering its Mission TCODE-INITIATE aspires to keeping its status as a hub for youth allowing them to: access a safe space, and acquire knowledge and access to a network of social and political influencers enhancing their social participation in decision making processes.

 

Under the ‘Support to the National Vaccination Campaign 2022’ project, and in cooperation with LPDC, UNDP and UNRWA, TCODE-INITIATE is aiming to create an initiative related to vaccination awareness targeting the Palestinian community mainly residing in Palestinian camps and gatherings across Lebanon and specifically located in Beirut, North Lebanon, and South Lebanon with a possibility to include Bekaa are if needed.

The purpose of this initiative is to raise awareness of the importance of vaccination to limit the spread of the COVID 19 virus and mutants within the population as well as to build the capacity of the population to register on the MOPH platform and UNRWA system to get the vaccines. As per previous experience, many people don’t have the ability nor the capacity to use the online systems to enter their data, therefore, TCODE-INITATE team will be always ready to support.

The initiative is based on collected and analysed data, in addition to key messaging and/or information gathered from national sources (i.e. Ministry of Public Health), and international sources (i.e., World Health Organization), and INITIATE will develop the awareness content based on the current context of the Palestinian Camps and gatherings targeted

The vaccination campaign will be conducted within four (4) UNRWA clinics located in Rashidieh Camp (Tyre, South Lebaon), Ein El Helwe Camp (Saida, South Lebanon), Beddawi Camp (North Lebanon) and Burj Barajni Camp (Beirut).  

In this context, INITIATE will rely on seventeen (17) field workers to be assist the targeted population at these 4 UNRWA clinics in providing awareness session, supporting the registration process, vaccination, follow up, as well as monitoring and data entry.

  1. Purpose of the Contract:                                                                                      

TCODE-INITIATE is looking for a Project coordinator to join the COVID-19 response team, the project coordinator will oversee and monitor the work of 17 field workers stationed in UNRWA clinics (fixed and mobile) to assist with the national vaccination campaign 2022 by raising awareness and facilitating registration.

  1. Tasks:

The Project Coordinator will undertake the following tasks:

  • Monitor the work of 17 field workers through daily follow-up;
  • Conduct field visits on regular basis to the areas;
  • Compile biweekly and monthly narrative reports;
  • Follow-up with the M&E officer on the project’s achievements;
  • Follow-up with the Health Expert Consultant regularly for updated information;
  • Participate in meetings as needed;
  • Coordinate regularly/provide relevant information on daily basis to the Senior Programs Manager;
  • Compile and document data collected as requested by TCODE-INITIATE;
  • Attend coordination meeting;
  • Support the implementation of the planned components of the strategy;
  • Participate in virtual meetings whenever asked by the area coordinator;
  • Coordinate regularly/provide relevant information on request to all involved stakeholders (INITIATE, GIZ, LPDC).

 

  1. Qualifications:

The Project Coordinator must have the following minimum qualifications:

  1. Academic Qualifications:
  • Minimum of a Bachelor degree in Business or any relevant degree.
  1. Experience:
  • Work/Volunteering experience in Palestinian refugee camps
  1. Competencies/Knowledge:
  • Knowledge in use of computer software packages for wordprocessing, excel, power point, and the internet;
  • Excellent communication skills;
  • Excellent reporting skills;
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills;
  • Fluent in Arabic;
  • Excellent knowledge of the Palestinian context in Lebanon and the region
  • Political sensitivity

 

  1. Timeframe

The contracting party is expected to provide his services in the period of 15.06.2022 until 31.12.2022
