Responsibilities

Responsibility 1: Collect and analyse data on socio-economic impact of HI’s demining operations

Objectives:           To assess the socio-economic impact of HI’s demining operations

Benchmark:          Owner’s interviews; questionnaires fulfilled; Data to be reported to the excel sheets and data analysis.

 

Activities:

  • Take appointment with all minefields’ owners;
  • Visit all minefields owners  and carry out pre and post impact interviews based on the information shared by the Head of Mission and/or the Chief of Operations;
  • Integrate data in the specific Excel files, then analyse and evaluate;
  • Coordinate with HI Chief of Operations on progress advancement, difficulties and facilitate the work of the teams with community authorities and members.
  • Take pictures of used former minefields when possible and relevant;

 

 

Responsibility 2: Inform the communities about HI’s demining operations

bjective: To provide the communities with information about HI’s demining

Benchmark: communities are aware of the ongoing demining operations; regular meetings with municipalities

 

  • Visit heads of municipalities or villages representatives when HI operations are deployed in a new area to inform them about the nature of HI’s work and collect qualitative information;
  • Participate to the organization of the project’s Public Relations events when needed. 

 

 

Responsibility 3: Collaborate with the NTS team on data collection.

Objective: To insure the data collection on given tasks and newly tasks that might be done.

Benchmark: the heads of municipalities are met; information related collected; potential interested actors are involved. Understand the history that led to the conflict during that time in the villages. Intake the habits and values of each village before collecting data.

 

Activities:

  • Visit heads of municipalities to collect information about tasks given by LMAC.
  • Meet the key informants’ people in the communities.
  • Participate in filling reports for LMAC NTS-HA reports.

 

Confidentiality is required in all these responsibilities.

 

Note that this job description must remain flexible; to respond to additional tasks or changes as identified by the line manager.

 

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • BA Degree with Minimum 2 years’ experience with an NGO specialized in humanitarian assistance with at least 1 year experience in a similar position.
  • Good understanding of the project management cycle;
  • Experience in writing reports;
  • Experience in negotiation;

 

Competencies & skills

  • Strong social and communication skills;
  • Strong negotiation skills;
  • Strong demonstrated analytical skills;
  • Ability to write clear and well-argued reports;
  • Problem solving and with the ability to assess challenges and recommend solutions;

Basic salary range for the position : The Community Liaison Officer is going to be paid according to the experience and to HI salary Grid.

Basic Salary range between USD 1000 – USD 1500
