INTORODUCTION

House of Peace (HOPe), officially registered as Threads of Peace in 2019, is a non-governmental social peacebuilding organisation based in Lebanon. HOPe aims through different activities to enhance social peace within local communities by shifting perceptions; supporting and connecting community-based initiatives and dialogue spaces; advancing the principles of conflict sensitivity; and by voicing grassroots perspectives, stories and aspirations

 

PROJECT EXECUTIVE SUMMARY

The Self – Care Hub, aims to create a bridging mechanism between PSS experts/therapists and front-liners from NGOs on the field. As the coordinating key-stakeholder in this self-care intervention, HOPe’s role is to build this bridge through establishing a safe-space for self-care and PSS and outsourcing expertise in the field of PSS. The experts, in turn, have full ownership in designing their program according to the needs’ assessments with our beneficiaries, who include HOPe team as well.

Through the formulation of this Hub, participants will benefit from a psychological support journey that will aim to decrease the amount of burdens they are experiencing on a mental & emotional levels, and also lead them to formulate their own personal peace plans later on.

Under the umbrella of grassroots peacebuilding, the Self Care Hub, brings front-liners from different backgrounds together, taking into consideration social distancing and COVID-19 health precautions, in order to empower their mental health resilience.

HOPe will also be responsible for disseminating information related to self-care tips through social media platforms to target communities, and also its own beneficiaries in the social peace project.

On HOPe’s internal level, this intervention will aim to draft a self-care policy for the organization. Moreover, self-care intervention for HOPe staff will also be tailored by the experts in the field.

Roles and Responsibilities:

 

Activity/Field Roles:

 

    • Unit Workplan Organiser: To ensure that a proper plan of the Unit activities is set and applied by the external trainers and unit members when needed to meet the target as per the approved projects proposals. 
    • Unit Archiver Have all SCH documents available, organized, and easy to reach whenever it is required for any type of information, reporting, and other purposes. 
    • Meeting Note Keeper SCH Unit: To document the unit meetings and to share with the general unit members all important points discussed through-out the unit meeting during the general weekly meeting.
    • Program Developer: Scaling up the impact of HOPe self-care hub project by improving existing tools, trainings and programs, and developing new ones as per the observation, and the needs based on HOPe strategy. 
    • Relationship builder:
      • To build on the existing network circle that HOPe have and to coordinate with targeted organisations who will benefit from this program and to build good relationships with new organisations that are interested to benefit from this program.
      • To build new relationships with possible qualified trainers who will be applying the self-care program, and to coordinate with the trainers to maintain that activities are aligned with HOPe strategy and values.

 

Support Roles:

 

  • Internal policy developer: Create the self-care policy for HOPe team, making sure that this policy is aligned with HOPe strategy, values and the team needs. Create self-care policy for partner HOPe partner organisations according an assessment done with these organisations. The coordinator will facilities group support sessions or self-care sessions for HOPe team when needed.
  • Recruiter & Interviewer: Supporting in the recruitment process by preparing Job Descriptions in collaboration with OTD Manager supporting in filtering profiles, and participating in the interviews with the OTD Manager. Participate in the evaluation of the SCH Unit performance the support team and other team member with direct work.
  • Unit Progress Reporter: Prepare and update the weekly report of the activities and the number of beneficiaries using the beneficiary sheet.  Prepare narrative reports achieved activities, observations, outputs, and submit to M&E manager according to internal deadlines. 
  • Unit Progress Tracker: Monitoring progress of work according to project targets as per the log frame in the approved proposal.  Update the process of the trainings if needed based on the needs and the evaluation of the participants and in coordination with the trainers.
  • Budget Holder: Managing the project budget, responsible for the forecasting of the budget. Updating the financial manager on monthly bases what are the estimated expenses with respecting HOPe policies and the partners’ requirements.  Responsible for budget revision of the project when needed.
  • Unit Procurement: Responsible to prepare procurement requests for the unit according to the procurement procedures and policy.
  • Eco Friend: To promote and support eco-friendly practices at HOPe office in particular and the field of work in general.

 

Requirements and qualifications:

  • Good spirit.
  • Master degree in clinical psychology.
  • Minimum of 5 years of proven experience in the field of psychology, dealing with trauma, PSS, PTSD.
  • Design Individual and group work sessions.
  • Knowledge in mentoring, and coaching.
  • Knowledge in monitoring, and Evaluation.
  • Knowledge in self-care policy.
  • Perfect command of spoken and written English and Arabic.
  • Notable time management and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work in partnership with local communities and NGOs.
  • Teamwork and cooperative attitude.
  • Problem solving, and communication skills.
  • Good computing skills.
  • Ability to prepare budget.
  • Additional requirement for non-Lebanese nationals: permit of residence in Lebanon is required.
