About Hivos

Hivos seeks new and creative solutions to persistent global problems; solutions created by people taking their lives into their own hands. We offer a positive counterbalancing force against discrimination, inequality, abuse of power and the unsustainable use of our planet’s resources. Our mission is to innovate for social change. With smart projects in the right places, we work towards more open and green societies.

Background on Women, Peace and Security Syria

Funded by the Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Women, Peace and Security Syria project was co-designed by Hivos and three Syrian organisations, who have an office in neighbouring countries but operate both inside and outside of the country. Implementation is also the co-responsibility of Hivos and its three partners. The project aims at creating a peaceful solution to the current conflict through active involvement of women of all sectors, geographical zones and political affiliations. The project promotes upward participation and downward accountability. To achieve this overall goal many activities are organised at community level, governorate and national level. This implies, dialogue sessions, conferences, workshops, advocacy, training sessions and gender awareness raising activities.

About the Consultancy

Hivos is requesting proposals from Advocacy and Campaigns Consultants (at least two individuals) or consultancy firm to provide an advocacy and campaigning training and mentorship programme for 30 Syrian women in Lebanon.

The programme will include a series of training workshops followed by a bilingual campaign launch which will include public campaign deliverables.
