Project Objectives:

The overall aim of the project is to work toward preventing and reducing protection risks faced by Syrian refugees, stateless and local individuals in the targeted area (Suburban areas of Beirut, particularly in Hay el Gharbeh). Frontiers Rights is particularly concerned with the negative effects of the lack of protection for people from marginalised communities (primarily Syrian refugees, Palestinian refugees, migrant workers, stateless, and others) which put these people at risk of being detained/who have been detained/people with limited information about how to access legal documentation, such lack of access to rights and protection mechanism could push them into negative coping mechanism.

With the aim of providing immediate support to these individuals – FR is recruiting a Community Facilitator with the following qualifications:

 

Qualifications:

  • Degree in Law or Social sciences
  • Proven record as “Community Leader” with strong communications and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience as Social Worker or Paralegal is a plus
  • Ability to use computers, Tablets and to learn the use of new software
  • Very good written and spoken Arabic, English is a plus
  • Ability to work in a team.
  • Ability to work under pressure and under tight deadlines.
  • Interviewing skills is a must.
  • Immediate availability
  • Living in nearby areas (Sabra and Chatila – Hay el Gharbeh).
  • Car is a plus

 

Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Assist in the Identification of undocumented individuals.
  2. Conduct community outreach, interviews with undocumented persons and their families.
  3. Conduct preliminary counseling session to undocumented person at household level.
  4. Collecting information on beneficiaries and their grievances to support evidence-based advocacy efforts.
  5. Maintain written record of all developments and action on cases.
  6. Identify individuals for referring cases to the association, lawyers and other service providers.
  7. Draft activity reports, and complete records and other documentation as required including developing and maintaining plans for beneficiaries and completing tasks emerging from meetings.
  8. Perform any other relevant duties as assigned.
