Overview of FRH

Ruwad al Houkouk is a non-profit and apolitical NGO that aims at enhancing the human rights of vulnerable marginalized groups in Lebanon. The association’s target population is the refugees, stateless persons and migrant workers. Its main activities include legal services, produces policy papers and conduct advocacy activities.
 

Description

The Accountant is responsible for maintaining the budget, recording and reflecting fully, accurately, clearly and in a timely manner the funds that are allocated and the disbursements made to support project implementation, in accordance with the approved documents and the liquidation of expenditures on quarterly basis as well as upon project termination. The Accountant will ensure to coordinate with FR management and use the International & Legal Accounting & Financial Standards and procedures.

Duties and Responsibilities

The candidate will be expected to perform the responsibilities such as:

  • Responsible for overall accounting and financial operations on daily basis, journal entry, financial statements & reports (balance sheet, ledgers, Trial balance...)
  • Record all transaction over the Accounting software
  • Carries out payments of all regular area office expenses such as office rental, telephone bills, advances, etc.
  • Carry out the calculation of the payroll, for all contractors.
  • Maintain payee statement records for all suppliers.
  • Control procedures and processes for Accounting, Finance, Inventory and payroll to be documented and revised upon any amendment sort by top management.
  • Manage banking transactions related to the project, including preparing bank transfer requests, submitting them to the bank, monitoring transfers and preparing monthly bank reconciliation statements and reporting.
  • Ensure a regular monitoring of the bank account(s).
  • Manage taxes and legal declaration, payroll, NSSF, and legal deadlines...
  • Monitor cash flow and budget vs actual expenditures.
  • Prepare the monthly financial reports based on the accounting application, with all necessary justifying documents (invoice, vouchers, reconciliation…).
  • Prepare all donor financial reports in respect to accounting, legal and contractual requirements

 

Qualifications

  • 3 to 5 years of experience in accounting and finance.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
  • Good knowledge of Lebanese administrative and accounting regulation and procedures.
  • Computer literacy with significant experience in excel and accounting softwares.
  • Experience in working with NGOs or INGOs is a plus
  • Excellent written and spoken Arabic and English
  • Good communication skills
  • Great attention to detail.
