Description: 

This role ensures effective financial accounting, reporting, and compliance to support organizational operations. Key responsibilities include reconciliation, working on Audits and donor verification visits. The role supports overseeing reconciliations, payment processing, cash forecasting, and banking teams while maintaining financial integrity by ensuring adherence to FDCDs policies and procedures.

In the event of a major humanitarian emergency, the role holder will be expected to work outside the normal role profile and be able to vary working hours accordingly.

Key Responsibilities

Project Budgeting:

  • Collaborate with project coordinators to develop accurate and comprehensive project budgets aligned with donor requirements and organizational standards.
  • Monitor project budgets throughout implementation, ensuring adherence to financial guidelines and making recommendations for adjustments as needed.

Financial Reporting:

  • Prepare regular financial reports for internal and external stakeholders, providing accurate and timely information on project financial performance.
  • Coordinate with project teams to gather necessary data for reporting and ensure compliance with donor reporting requirements.
  • Prepare monthly financial reports for review and submission.
  • Manage the data entry of the financial transactions after verifying that all documents are eligible and accurately recorded.

Financial Record Keeping:

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records for all donor projects and activities.
  • Ensure the financial transactions are properly documented, coded, and filed in accordance with accounting principles.
  • Develop all policies and procedures for FDCD in order to organize the workflow and ensure its appropriate implementation.
  • Assist with the annual budgeting process, quarterly budget reports, and anticipated budget variances in cooperation with the finance coordinator.

Compliance and Audit Support:

  • Assist in the preparation of financial documentation and support the organization’s compliance with audit requirements.
  • Collaborate with auditors to provide necessary financial information during audits and reviews. 

Knowledge and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field. Master's degree or professional certification (e.g., CPA, CFA) is a plus.
  • Proven 3 - 5 years of experience in financial management, preferably in an NGO or INGO.
  • Proven experience in Humnan Resources is a plus.
  • Strong knowledge of financial principles, budgeting, accounting standards, and donor regulations (e.g., USAID, EU funding).
  • Proficiency in financial software (QuickBook system is a plus) and Microsoft Office Suite, with advanced Excel skills for financial analysis.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, with attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a multicultural environment, manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlines.
  • Familiarity with grant management, fundraising, and donor reporting processes is a must.
  • Detail-oriented and high level of constructive attitude and proactivity.
  • Demonstrate strong English and Arabic oral and written communication skills.
