Interfaith and intercultural dialogue – one of our 3-year projects Funded by the European Union is
being implemented in Syria, Iraq, and Lebanon by FDCD and two other partners: Iraqi al-Amal
Association (Al Amal) and Danmission.
One of our main activities is to encourage younger researchers through its academic stakeholders to
conduct research in the field of interreligious dialogue and related fields to produce new knowledge
and strengthening these topics to be well-established as academic areas.

Background Information
Founded in 2004, FDCD represents the collective vision, mission, and history of the Urban-Rural
Mission program’s work in the MENA region. As such, the program looks back over 20 years of
history of community organizing, leadership, training, spiritual reflection and response to
marginalization and dehumanization. We promote peacebuilding, equal citizenship, and human
rights in the Arab World by creating common spaces for dialogue and building the capacity of
community and civil society groups to be catalysts for peace. 

Evaluation criteria:
- The proposed research should contribute to a better understanding of the social cohesion,
interfaith relationships and dialogue, coexistence situation in the targeted areas
- The research idea proposed should be innovative and practical
- The proposing researcher is able (possess the necessary researching skills), motivated, and
committed to carrying out the research.
- The research should follow high academic standards to facilitate dissemination, inspiration and
networking, the researchers.
The research will follow the below format:
1. Summary of key findings
2. Methodology and limitations
3. Introduction and context
4. Main findings (organized thematically)
5. Recommendations (organized by targeted stakeholder)
6. Conclusion
7. References
8. Annexes (e.g. data collection tools, list of stakeholders) The research report, which will be in
English, should not exceed 6000 words in length (not including the section on References and
Annexes).
I. Budget: will be determined based on the evaluation of the applications, and profiles of candidates.
Applicants are asked to submit a budget that includes all expenses relevant to the completion of the
assignment.
