Grant Officer

Responsibilities and Duties:

• Create, plan, implement, manage and oversight all aspects related to fundraising for the organization.
• Identify donor opportunities, develop a donor database, respond to donor tenders and call for proposals.
• Develop grant proposals, write appeals, represent the organization at donor meetings and undertake follow-up of potential funding opportunities.
• Explore and develop strategies for the long-term sustainability of the organization and its interventions.
• Develop business plans in consultation with other staff for possible generation of long-term incomes for the organization.
• Undertake online research and build contacts with potential individual donors and raise funds for the activities of the organization.
• Improve and develop communications material for the organization such as brochure, website, annual report, DVD, poster, etc.
• Liaise with private agencies, the government and other organizations to explore potential collaborations for raising funds for the organization.
• Suggest other innovative ideas for effective resource mobilization.
• Oversee and provide guidance to trainees in the development of their fund-raising and grant-writing skills.
• Meet all fundraising strategy targets, timelines and income projections.
• Search, monitor and identify forms of funding for the programs of the association according to their needs.
• Develop a network of potential donors. Build relationships with contact persons within funding organizations.
• Develop public fundraising opportunities and activities.
• Research, identify and manage small-mid donations from trusts, foundations, institutional funders, governments and statutory-making bodies, corporate and private donors.
•  Attract, build and develop relationships with new and existing corporate donors to secure long.

Qualifications/Requirements:

Knowledge and Experience:

• Accredit social science degree or any other related degree;
• Minimum 2 years of experience in fundraising in Lebanon;
• Good understanding of the local context and social welfare and legal system in Lebanon and internationally;
• Previous experience working in fundraising and targeting local and international donors;
• Proven experience engaging with different target groups from all backgrounds.

• Ability to work to a high standard of integrity, conduct, and confidentiality 
• Fluency in Arabic;
• Strong English 
• French is an added value

NB: the job is task-oriented rather than hours-oriented. Flexibility in hours.
