Psychomotor Therapist
FIRST Step Together Association (FISTA) is a non-governmental organization dedicated to supporting individuals with cognitive impairments, communication disorders, psycho-motor difficulties, learning disabilities, attention deficit disorders, hyperactivity, behavioral, and psycho-social problems. Established in 1993 and located in North Lebanon, FISTA’s mission is to provide education, vocational training, and professional rehabilitation for persons with disabilities, and to advocate for their rights. FISTA adheres to a strict zero-tolerance policy against any form of gift, favor, or hospitality offered to its staff by suppliers. This policy extends to a firm stance against sexual harassment, exploitation, abuse, and child abuse, with a commitment to thoroughly investigate all allegations and take appropriate disciplinary action when necessary.
FISTA is looking for a psychomotor therapsit under the SHABAKE2 project wich aims to enhance the resilience of civil society organizations in Lebanon to improve crisis prevention and management.
Key Responsibilities
The primary role of Psychomotor Therapist at FISTA is to deliver psychomotor therapy interventions to children and youth with disabilities;
- Conduct psychomotor therapy interventions to Syrian children/youth with disabilities
- Fill assessment and session record sheets upon each session
- Coordinate with the project coordinator and other specialists.
- Undergo supervision and follow-up sessions
- Report on the child’s evolution and progress to the project coordination as requested.
- Conduct awareness sessions for caregivers.
- Conduct training and workshops for the professional team working within the project.
- Assess the level of speech impairments/delay, difficulty and set accordingly an individualized Treatment Plan
- Fill discharge and end of treatment reports upon therapy completion
- Collaborate with parents through meetings in order to meet desired goals and to evaluate the child's current level, personal areas for development, and capacities.
- Conduct training sessions in schools increasing the knowledge of the teachers and team in schools about inclusion and topics related to children with disability
- Develop and customize training sessions for FISTA partners such as NGO’s and other stakeholders.
Qualifications and Experience:
- A Bachelor’s degree in Psychomotor therapy is required.
- An experience of at least five years working in therapy and conducting psychomotor therapy sessions.
- Strong experience working with children with disabilities.
- Practical experience in providing psychomotor support to children who have various disabilities, using specialized therapeutic techniques and interventions tailored to their specific circumstances.
