Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide expert guidance, advice and support to staff dealing with safeguarding cases and/or concerns relating to children, whilst ensuring all related procedures are appropriately implemented.
  • Experience of effectively implementing robust safeguarding policies, procedures, and processes relating to children.
  • Developing and facilitating specialist safeguarding training.
  • Provides risk assessments and develops strategies to reduce risk, audits current child safeguarding measures and develops or strengthens child safeguarding policies and procedures.
  • Leads on reviewing all activities and documents or tools created by Fiftyfifty.
  • Excellent knowledge of key international standards and guidelines related to child protection, child safeguarding and child feedback mechanisms.
  • Ability to identify main child protection needs.
  • Experience in providing capacity building support, including delivery of training.
  • Responsible for maintaining a robust child feedback and reporting mechanism and ensuring adherence to child safeguarding policies.
  • 3-7 years of relevant work experience in implementation of Child Protection, preferably with NGO, and in schools.

 

Qualifications: 

This position demands a dynamic individual with a demonstrated ability to achieve results in a demanding and fast paced environment:

  • 5 to 7 years of experience in a field related to humanitarian assistance and international development, development studies, gender studies, social work, and education etc.
  • Knowledge on current legislation, statutory and other guidance with regards to safeguarding, child, and adult protection.
  • Experience responding to and managing sensitive protection / safeguarding matters in a confidential manner.
  • Experience developing protection and safeguarding resource materials, including guidance, tools, and best practices.
  • Experience in providing training to staff on protection and safeguarding practices.
  • Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills.
  • Excellent knowledge on gender diversity and inclusion.
  • Fluent spoken and written English and Arabic.
  • Demonstrable coordination skills and able to build and sustain trust with individuals and teams.
