ECODIT Liban SARL is a Lebanese environmental planning and management consulting firm established in 2000; prequalified since 2007 by the Lebanese Council for Development and Reconstruction (CDR) to conduct “Environmental Studies” including Initial Environmental Examination (IEE), Environmental & Social Impact Assessment (ESIA), Strategic Environmental Assessment (SEA) and Environmental Compliance & Audits (EA) for review and approval by the Lebanese Ministry of Environment (MoE).

Since its establishment, ECODIT Liban SARL has successfully led over 100 projects for various public and private sector clients in Lebanon and the region for the past twenty years. Its local expertise and regional know-how make it a leading institution in environmental and social assessment, policy support and strategic planning, rural tourism and local development, as well as capacity building and institutional strengthening in waste, water, energy, and eco-tourism.

 

ECODIT Liban is seeking a full-time PROJECT COORDINATOR to provide technical and administrative support to the ECODIT Liban team to implement environmental projects in Lebanon and the region.

 

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in environmental related fields
  • 4 to 7 years of professional experience in environmental consulting and technical assistance services
  • A minimum of 4-years’ experience in conducting Initial Environmental Examination (IEE) and/or Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) and/or Environmental Audit (EA) and/or environmental related projects based on Lebanese regulations; Strategic Environmental Assessment (SEA) experience is a plus
  • Experience in proposal development, including preparation of technical and financial proposals
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and analytical skills
  • Fluency in English and Arabic; French is a plus

 

Description of the Position:

The Project Coordinator will be responsible for the following tasks:

 

  1. Project Coordination and Implementation
    1. Carry out and coordinate the implementation of various projects and assignments including -but not limited to- IEEs, EIAs, EAs, SEAs, environmental strategies, workshops, public sessions, training, and technical assistance to Clients
    2. Assist in the definition of project scope and objectives
    3. Carry out data collection, literature review, research, and site visits
    4. Ensure proper implementation of quality assurance and quality control for collection of data
    5. Conduct data analysis and report writing
    6. Coordinate resource availability and allocation for the flawless execution of projects
    7. Ensure projects are delivered on-time, within scope and budget
    8. Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation
    9. Establish and maintain relationships with clients and all stakeholders
    10. Act as Project Manager on small-scale projects
    11. Perform other related duties as assigned

 

  1. New Business / Proposal Development
    1. Track new project opportunities, including calls for Expressions of Interest (EOI), Requests for Proposal (RFP), and Requests for Quotation (RFQ) from various sources according to ECODIT’s line of services
    2. Carry out proposal development, including preparation of technical and financial proposals
    3. Contribute notably in teaming and recruiting consultants
    4. Develop and maintain professional relations as well as identify new business opportunities with local and regional firms and organizations with which ECODIT may partner

 

  1. Administrative Work
    1. Reply to phone calls, emails, and face to face enquiries
    2. Schedule and coordinate meetings, take minutes of meetings, and manage calendars
    3. Maintain proper paperwork activities
    4. Develop and update administrative systems to make them more efficient
    5. Perform other related duties as assigned

 

  1. Other Functions
    1. Provide assistance to senior staff
    2. Contribute to team/staff development by imparting more junior staff
    3. Participate in annual performance appraisals of other staff

 

The Project Coordinator will be based in ECODIT Liban’s office in Baabda and will report to the ECODIT Liban Director. S/he will be expected to comply with ECODIT Liban’s Code of Business Ethics and Conduct.

 

Compensation:

  • Gross Annual Salary based on merit and experience
  • Transportation: Monthly Allowance
  • Medical Health Insurance: Yearly Allowance
  • National Social Security Fund (NSSF)
  • Personal Vacation: 15 days per year
  • Official Holidays: 15 days per year
  • Annual Bonus: 0 to 10% of Annual Salary depending on both the candidate and ECODIT performance
