Through INARA, USAID seeks to increase the supply of electricity generation at the community level and to increase the cost-effectiveness, eco-friendliness, sustainability, and reliability of power supply, while clarifying and strengthening the enabling environment for renewable energy-based electrical power generation.
The project will run for 5 years and started in September 2021. The position is based in Beirut, Lebanon. This position will start on September as full-time employee contract.
Role and Responsibilities
The Draftsman is charged with providing support to the engineering team to prepare and draft the engineering deliverables. In addition, s/he shall possess the follow up skill to assist the MEL and QA/QC to ensure that all project deliverables are well organized, numbered, and easily traceable
Specific duties include:
- Keep logs and database up to date.
- Assign Reference number for documents.
- Filing and archiving received and sent documents on DT Global share point.
- Scanning hard copies and filing appropriately.
- File hard copies in appropriate document boxes.
- Preparation and execution of engineering and technical drawings applying best-practice and standards while abiding with design considerations and requirements. Technical drawings would include electrical, mechanical, civile and structural drawings.
- Review subcontractor drawings and verify their compliance with Quality plan and numbering protocol.
- Collect all drawings, data, MOM, and notes involved in a project, draft plans, layout, single line diagrams, etc.
- Prepare final version of the complete set of drawings, specifying dimensions, codes, and materials.
- File all drawings according to their revision dates.
- Familiar with AutoCAD.
- Engineering degree is preferred, however, relevant Technical degree is required with ACAD certificate as a minimum.
- Assist in the technical team in drafting, organizing documentation and keep track records of all deliverables and correspondences.
- Supports the Technical lead on the follow up with the consultants and contractors in all related deliverables
- Responsible for implementing the tracking the deliverables planned and, designed and the progress reporting on the installation of RE systems
- Assisting in the implementation of all results under INARA’s activities related to RE systems
- Assists with and providing inputs to track and record Annual Work Plans, Communication and Schedule of Deliverables, and other Plans as required by USAID.
Required and Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor degree or higher in mechanical, civil or electrical Engineering is preferred.
- 5 years of experience working as a document controller for Engineering and construction deliverables.
- Preferred - Experience working on USAID engineering projects.
- Ability produce ACAD drawings.
- Experience working with local design firms and construction firms.
- Familiarity with USAID regulations, AIDAR and FAR preferred.
- Strong English and Arabic writing and communication skills.
