The Department Levant of Drosos Foundation is inviting qualified consultants to express their interest for short-or mid-term assignments in Lebanon, Palestine or Jordan in one or several areas of expertise listed below.

About Drosos

Drosos Foundation is a charitable, non-profit organisation and committed to the effective and sustainable improvement of the living conditions of disadvantaged people and to protecting the environment. The Foundation develops and supports projects that have a direct bearing on improving the living conditions of particular population groups. Wherever the Foundation is involved, it seeks a long-term impact. It is ideologically, politically and religiously independent. Working both in Switzerland and abroad, the Foundation places a clear emphasis in its international engagement. Currently, the Foundation is active in Egypt, Jordan, Lebanon, Morocco, Palestine and Tunisia.

The Department Levant is responsible for the country portfolios of Jordan, Lebanon and Palestine. It develops and supports projects in the fields of life skills development of youth through creative activities and economic empowerment of disadvantaged or marginalised people. Through these activities, it aims to empower them and assist them in developing a better outlook for their future.

Establishment of a Pool of Consultants:

The Department Levant frequently engages external experts on short or mid-term assignments to provide technical expertise, ensure project monitoring, offer capacity building, coach partner organisations or conduct evaluations. It is currently seeking to establish a pool of qualified consultants for the professional accompaniment and assessment of its ongoing and future projects. Expertise in the following fields is currently in demand:

Cluster Economic Development:

Development of small and medium enterprises Job creation, job placement and vocational training Marketing of products from social enterprises Social and economic inclusion for marginalised groups (people with disabilities, released prisoners, etc.)
Cluster Children and Youth Development through Creative Projects:

Children and youth development Artistic and creative activities with children and youth Life skills development Creative industries
Cluster Technical Skills and Tools:

Organisational capacity development Monitoring and evaluation Developing baselines Impact assessments Coaching and mentoring of non-profit organisations Business planning, modelling and feasibility studies Market research Workshop facilitation

Requirements:

An advanced degree in social sciences, development, business administration, psychology, education, evaluation, public administration, or a related field; Proven conceptual knowledge in the selected field of expertise; A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in conducting assignments and supporting development projects; Excellent command of both oral and written English and Arabic; French is considered an asset for Lebanon; Strong familiarity with and work experience in the Middle East; Strong communication, facilitation and mentoring skills; Ability to analyse abstract information and write concise reports; Preference will be given to local experts (Jordanian, Lebanese or Palestinian nationals or other nationals residing in Jordan, Lebanon or Palestine).
