The Program Manager will be responsible for:

  • Developing programmes in line with Dorcas policies, Dorcas Annual Plan and with an eye on funding possibilities;
  • Managing and monitoring  high quality implementation of humanitarian and early recovery projects;
  • Providing leadership through managing, capacitating and coaching of  the local staff and partner organizations in project implementation;
  • Designing budgets and monitoring expenses of the projects implemented by Dorcas and its local partners;
  • Supporting logistic, financial and administrative project affairs;
  • Developing new projects and proposals for institutional donors;
  • Timely submission of internal reports and reports to institutional donors according to their requirements;
  • Providing technical advice and support to field staff and partner organisations;
  • Contributing to strategy and policy developments;
  • Program staff recruitment;
  • Representing Dorcas at relevant cluster meetings;
  • Networking with relevant donors, government institutions and other stakeholders; 

 

Job Requirements:

  • MA/Msc degree preferably related to Health or Livelihoods. Candidates with a BSc degree that have extensive relevant experience are also invited to apply;
  • At least 5 years relevant field experience and at least 3 years program management experience;
  • Experience working in Syria or in fragile/conflict-prone contexts is a pre;
  • Experience with the UN coordination system;
  • Expert in humanitarian and early recovery programming;
  • Settled character with ability to cope with stressful, delicate and possibly unstable situations;
  • Proactive attitude, flexible personality, strong interpersonal and communication skills;
  • Experience in working with partner organisations;
  • Experience with raising funds and managing projects funded by Institutional Donors;
  • Experience in writing proposals, capable to pursuit, set goals and to achieve them;
  • Fluent command of English and Arabic;
  • Adherence to the mission and vision of Dorcas.
