Training of Trainers in Science Journalism

The training is in 2 parts: one part online with a science journalist from the DW TV from 29.08.2021 till 03.09.2021, 3 hours daily;
and one part physical in Beirut with a Lebanese science  journalist from 13.09.2021 till 17.0902021 in Beirut, Lebanon.
From theory to practice, both phases build on each other and on DW resources to train journalists on Science Journalism formats and best-practice. Participants can be offered opportunities to deliver trainings.

What we offer:

  • From theory (ethics, sources) to practice (reports, storytelling on scientific topics), both trainings build on each other
  • You will also be provided with material: an handbook on scientific journalism as well as methods to train other journalists on this topic
  • Potential opportunity to train journalists on Science Journalism.

What you bring:

  • Strong experience in journalism (3-5 years)
  • Professional experience in the field of training journalists using interactive methods
  • Fluency in Arabic and English
