e-Think Tank on the role of media organizations in countering digital gender-based violence1/2

Based on aggregated regional projects in the ecosystem, the e-Think Tank brings together relevant actors and stakeholders from the MENA region on the role of the media in combating women-specific disinformation and cyber violence, where the needs of the target group are defined and addressed collaboratively.

As part of the project "Digital gender-based violence" DW Akademie would like to recruit the following services: 

1- Production House 

        A. Profile of prospective 2nd party 

- Meets with DWA on values and goals. 

- Considers a variety of learning needs and preferences. 

- Respects the diversity of interviewees/ participants and their rights. 

- Able to lead extensive communication with project manager to facilitate design, interpretation and implementation of production, and to evaluate the effectiveness of messages. 

      B. Tasks and deliverables  

- Works and collaborates with DWA throughout production phases of 8 videos as follows 

- Interviews experts, victims and organizations specialized in gender-based violence and digital security in Lebanon; also in Iraq, Jordan, Egypt, Morocco and Tunisia 

- Produce a promotional video for the project in four-minute and two one-minute versions 

- Produce informative/ educational short videos as part of the workshops on journalists’ safety, on digital security, workplace safety, as well as on take-outs from some of the project activities  

- Pre-production: script adaptation, storyboarding, art direction, research, planning, location scouting 

- Production: filming, crew, equipment, V.O. 

- Post-production: editing, GFX, motion graphics, correction, revision, subtitling, translation Arabic-English 

 

2- Researcher 

     A. Profile of prospective 2nd party 

- Meets with DWA on values and goals. 

- Considers a variety of learning needs and preferences. 

- Respects the diversity of interviewees/ participants and their rights. 

- Able to lead extensive communication with project manager to facilitate design, interpretation and implementation of production, and to evaluate the effectiveness of messages. 

- Speaks fluently in infographics 

       B. Tasks and deliverables  

- Works and collaborates with DWA throughout website production phases. 

- Researches DGBV in the region, specifically in Lebanon, Iraq, Jordan, Egypt, Morocco and Tunisia 

aggregates validated resources for the website under construction 

- Assists with the page design and layout in coordination with PM and web developer 

- Selects and prioritizes takeouts of validated research 

- Provides insight on how to best showcase that content in infographics and visuals  

 

3- Core Team  

     A. Profile of prospective Core Team member: 

- Meets with DWA on values and goals.

- Has expertise in the following areas: Gender studies, and gender-specific digital safety and security, journalists’ safety, trauma, GBV, fact-checking, MIL, NVC, podcasts, consulting, and online training in the afore-mentioned areas. 

      B. Tasks and deliverables: 

- Provides input in the planning and recruitment phases and participates in the activities of the e-Think Tank. 

- Willing to communicate with project teams and audiences as well as with production house. 

- Helps in the promotion of takeouts relevant to own professional networks and channels.

4- Graphic Designer

Profile:

- Meets with DWA on values and goals.

- Previous designs relating to GBV, youth and gender studies is advantageous

- Efficient teamplayer, takes constructive feedback and respects deadlines

- Displays cultural, gender, religion, and age sensitivity and adaptability;

Delivrables: 

- provides design for visibility material as per corporate identity and standards.

- A final design of the flyer/ poster approved by DWA

- Overseeing the printing of material.

DW Akademie invites interested parties to submit the expression of interest (EoI) by November 20th 2024, 23:59, via the following email: dw-akademie.gbv@dw.com, specifying the position in the subject line.

- A detailed budget proposal for the production house -competitive budgets will be considered.

- A letter of interest/ email introducing mutual strategic interest, a resume with a description of the scope of work and previous experiences which make you suitable for this partnership as well as other aspects you deem relevant.
