Description: 

The Focal Point/Communication Officer will be responsible for working at community level to
support the correct implementation of the project activities; S/He will work closely with the
Project Manager and the other project staff.

Plan, coordinate and monitor ongoing project activities in collaboration and under the supervision of the
Project Manager;
- Develop the communication strategy;
- Support the PM in the organization of the activity to be realized;
- Mobilize and network with the partners and the key stakeholders for the implementation of the project
activities;
- Monitor and supervise the activities implemented;
- Data collection and reporting;
- Be the focal point and responsible for the implementation of MEAL procedure for the monitoring and
evaluation of the project activities;
- Report to the Project Manager on the status of implementation of the activities;
- Translate and/or prepare the reports on project implementation to be presented to the donor/other
partners, and the monthly project activity reports;
- Maintain a high level of collaboration and coordination with all project staff;
- Monthly reports in English are required. Possibility of reporting in Arabic according to necessity;
- Ensure timely completion of project activities according to the weekly and monthly plans.

Requirements:
Education and Experience:
- A minimum of 4 experience in the field of Development/Communication/Environmental issues;
- A bachelor degree in Development, Social/Political Science or equivalent;
- Good English writing skills and research ability;
- Ability to work in a team and under pressure and against deadlines;
- Knowledge of INGO procedures;
- Perfect knowledge of Arabic;
- Computer literate: Microsoft Word and Excel.
Additional requirements:
- Negotiation, and communication skills combined with high degree of patience and cultural sensitivity;
- Familiar with participatory approach and human rights approach;
- Highly organized and able to work both autonomously and in team, with flexibility to take on additional tasks,
as needed;
- Proactive and with strong sense of responsibility;
- Trustworthy, good listener, flexible, detail oriented and can maintain confidentiality.
- Excellent interpersonal and negotiation skills;
- Stress-resilient and able to cope with deadlines and complex problems;
- Skills in networking and communication are critical;
- Possess cross-cultural sensitivity, knowledge and ability to work with people of diverse backgrounds and
cultures;
- A valid Driving license.
