Background:

The Interior Architect Assistant will be a key team member in a consulting firm that specializes in delivering innovative and high-end architectural solutions across various international markets. The consulting firm is known for its work on projects that span multiple regions, including Europe, the Middle East, and Asia, with a focus on both commercial and residential developments. The firm prides itself on creating spaces that are not only aesthetically compelling but also functionally sustainable and culturally aligned with local contexts.

In this role, the Interior Architect Assistant will support the Senior Interior Architect in delivering design services for clients with diverse and often complex requirements. As the firm works with international clients, this role will require adaptability and an understanding of various design regulations, building codes, and cultural nuances that differ from one region to another. The assistant will be involved in the entire design process, from initial client consultation and concept development to technical documentation and on-site coordination, ensuring the highest standards of quality and precision.

The role also demands strong management skills, as the Interior Architect Assistant will be tasked with supporting multi-phase projects that involve coordination between international stakeholders, suppliers, and contractors. Familiarity with global architectural trends, cutting-edge technologies like Building Information Modeling (BIM), and the latest sustainable design practices will be crucial in helping the team deliver on the firm’s mission to provide innovative and sustainable design solutions that meet global standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Daily Administrative Support:
    • Manage the Senior Architect’s schedule, including meetings, site visits, and project timelines.
    • Maintain organized project files, documentation, and correspondence.
    • Assist in drafting project briefs, and client communications.
    • Prepare reports, presentations, and project-related documents.
  2. Technical Expertise and Project Assistance:
    • Assist in the development of design concepts, space planning, and layouts for various interior architecture projects, in compliance with local building regulations and design standards.
    • Utilize AutoCAD, and 3D modeling software to prepare detailed technical drawings and construction documents.
    • Prepare initial design concepts and moodboard presentation, for materials and furniture.
  3. Project Management and Compliance:
    • Support in project management activities, including tracking milestones, budget adherence, and ensuring projects meet regulatory standards.
    • Coordinate with contractors, suppliers, and stakeholders, ensuring the timely delivery of materials and adherence to building codes​.
  4. Client and Stakeholder Interaction:
    • Participate in client meetings, taking notes and ensuring the client’s vision is integrated into the project design.
    • Prepare visual presentations, mood boards, and sample materials for client approvals, especially for high-end residential and commercial projects.
    • Coordinate with vendors to source materials that meet the specifications of each project​.
  5. Documentation and Reporting:
    • Keep accurate records of project progress and assist the Senior Architect with status updates, design changes, and budget revisions.
    • Assist in preparing technical reports, budgets, and schedules for internal and client use.
    • Manage and update material libraries, product samples, and design references for use in current and future projects.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Interior Architecture, Interior Design, Architecture, or related field.
  • Experience:
    • 3 to 5 years of experience in interior architecture, with exposure to both technical and administrative aspects of the job.
    • Proven expertise in working on high-end residential, commercial, and hospitality projects, with an emphasis on design development and project management​
  • Technical Skills:
    • Proficiency in AutoCAD, SketchUp, Photoshop, InDesign and 3D modeling software for design and drafting.
    • Proficiency in Word Document, Excel and Power Point.
    • Knowledge of building codes, environmental standards, and cultural design practices.
    • Proficiency in the English and Arabic Languages.
  • Soft Skills:
    • Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities.
    • Strong communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with teams and clients.
    • Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities.

Deliverables:

  • Daily administrative and technical support to ensure smooth project execution.
  • Timely preparation of technical drawings, reports, and documentation.
  • Effective coordination with internal and external project stakeholders, ensuring compliance with local regulations and client expectations.
