Working with CSI Board

  • Work closely with CSI board as per TORs.
  • Ensure that all projects and activities undertaken under various portfolios/projects,  are coherent with guidance and decisions of CSI board.
  • Ensure horizontal coherence among all projects and activities related to CSI.
  • Provide support for the preparation and proceedings of CSI general assembly and CSI boards meeting as requested and defined by CSI board or general coordinator.

Planning and Coordination

  • Coordinate the integration of CSI as a coherent institution and oversee the implementation and revisions of CSI Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) related to: Finance, Admin, HR and travels and other related operations.
  • Coordinate between Co-Directors, Coordinators, Portfolio managers, and communications managers to design  effective and quality communications strategies and oversee its implementation
  • Facilitate CSI’s overall strategy planning and focus areas – in coordination with CSI management Committee and portfolio managers
  • Manage CSI’s financial planning, reporting and accountability
  • Support and advise Coordinators and Portfolio Managers on the development of annual work plans and corresponding budget plans contributing to the achievement of target outputs specified in the project document – as mandated by the different dialogue forums, or based on an agreed need;
  • Support and supervise the development and update quarterly work plans and expenditure plans based on the agreed annual work plan
  • Monitor ALL CSI project’s progress against work plans and budget plans and compile all final project progress reports (quarterly, annual, risk log, and substantive) -- submitted by Program and Portfolio Managers -- to project partners, CSI Management and Board, and related donors.
  • Provide support to the CSI Management and responsible Coordinators and Co-Directors with fundraising and Resource Mobilization to ensure the implementation of the projects is successful and in accordance with relevant CSI policies and requirements.
  • Monitor and oversee financial resources and accounting to ensure accuracy and reliability of financial reports.
  • Liaise and coordinate with stakeholders, internal and external actors, donors, and partners, and between the portfolio managers and the administration.

Day to Day Operations

  • Coordinate the development of TOR of ALL new staff andconsultants. Monitor the recruitment process as per CSI SOPs. 
  • Provide guidance and manage the Financial and Administrative staff and supervise their performance.
  • Organize regular staff meetings in coordination with Management and Portfolio Managers to assess progress, discuss challenges and constraints, and agree on steps to adopt
  • Advise and support the preparation of terms of references for required inputs (individual and institutional consultancy services, procurement of goods, organization of training, seminars, etc.) with expert technical support as required and ensure that these are processed in timely and transparent manner, thereby mobilizing competent national and international experts for the project in accordance with the agenda and activities that are supported by the project
  • Supervise portfolio and program managers (in cooperation with coordinators and co-directors) and evaluate their programs and individual performance in delivering outputs as described in their terms of reference and program objectives and quarterly work plans.
  • Supervise financial officer, finance and admin staff on all operational matters and documents processing, including payment orders, contracts, bids, etc.
  • Will be copied all internal correspondence related to portfolios and financial and management/HR issues. 

 

 

 

Risk Management and Reporting

  • Liaise with CSI Management committee to assure the overall direction and integrity of the project, and identify and obtain any support and advice required for the management, planning, and control of the project.
  • monitor all programs and projects risks, and submit new risks to the Management and Board for consideration and decision on possible actions if required.
  • Ensure that relevant project and program outputs, good practice, and lessons learned are disseminated in compliance with quality requirements set out in CSI Manuals, board decisions, and CSI’s core values and objectives.
  • Represent CSI, as needed and requested by Management, in relevant international and national meetings, seminars, panels, etc.
  • Ensure proper coordination with and reporting to CSI partners when requested.
  • Supervise the preparation of all reports (quarterly, final annual report, donors reports, other) including measurement of progress against set goals and objectives.
  • Identify follow-on actions and submit them for consideration to the Management committee. (The management committee will then submit to the Board)

 

  • Monitor and ensure the transfer of project’s deliverables, documents, files, equipment, and materials between Project Partners, Donors and CSI.
  • Perform additional tasks as reasonably requested by the CSI Board and Management.

 

Institutional Roles

  • Serve as member of the CSI Management Committee
  • Attend CSI Board Meetings as part of the CSI Management Team and provide reports and updates as agreed in CSI Management Committee
