Job Overview:

CodeBrave is recruiting a Communications Manager to lead on engaging audiences with stories at CodeBrave. The Communications Manager will play a key part in supporting the growth of an exciting and impactful organisation.

We are looking for someone who is a natural storyteller and creative, brilliant at building relationships with young people, and creating engaging, interesting, entertaining and genuine content. The candidate should be able to interact well with children to collect stories at the schools where we work, and be excited to work within CodeBrave's passionate and forward-thinking culture.

 

Qualifications and Experience:

  • A degree in Communications, Journalism, Media Studies or a related field. Degrees in Education, Social Work, Psychology, or Digital Media are also an asset, particularly for candidates with experience working with children.
  • Fluency in English and Arabic, both written and spoken.
  • Strong storytelling and communication skills, with an ability to convey energy and emotion through content.
  • Experience in creating engaging content, including photography and simple video editing.
  • Proven ability to work effectively with children, making them feel comfortable during interviews and content collection.
  • Familiarity with social media management, including photo curation, caption writing, posting, and moderation.

Preferred Skills:

  • A creative mindset with a passion for storytelling and engaging audiences.
  • Basic photography skills and an eye for compelling visual content.
  • Proficiency in video editing software.
  • Experience building rapport with young people to gather authentic stories.
  • Enthusiasm for working in a dynamic, forward-thinking, and impact-driven organization.

 

Areas Of Responsibility:

Storytelling and Content Creation:

  • Build relationships with students, developing trust and understanding of their stories.
  • Identify and share impactful stories that highlight the NGO’s achievements and the communities it serves.
  • Write and edit compelling content for newsletters, blogs, annual reports, and other publications.
  • Use communications media to raise awareness of the organization’s mission and programs.

Donor Engagement:

  • Create materials and campaigns that appeal to donors, including success stories and impact reports.
  • Collaborate with the Head of Communications and the fundraising team to develop communication strategies for donor retention and acquisition.

Media Relations:

  • Cultivate relationships with journalists and media outlets to secure coverage for the NGO’s work.
  • Draft press releases, media kits, and statements for public distribution.

Brand Management:

  • Ensure that all communication materials created adhere to the NGO’s branding guidelines.
  • Monitor and enhance the organization’s reputation through consistent and professional branding.

Digital Analytics and Reporting:

  • With support of the Head of Communications, track and analyze the performance of digital campaigns and social media to refine strategies.
  • Prepare reports on communication activities and their impact on the organization’s visibility and goals.

 

Salary:

Based on experience, $1,600-1,700 (post-tax) per month for a full-time.
