The Protection community volunteer will provide support to the Protection officer in the implementation of the project “She Can” funded by UN Women. This position will work directly with social development centers (SDC’s) and CBOs. It will support several centers in Akkar in initiatives to address gender-based violence, work on community mobilization by engaging CBO’s and municipalities, and establishing a referral system inside SDCs. The main job focus of the protection Community volunteer is to support the protection officer in maintaining effective communication with the communities involved in the project, as well as create awareness on the project within these communities.
2. Reporting Lines
The Protection community volunteer will be reporting to the Protection Officer in Akkar.
3. Specific Duties and Responsibilities :
- Support Protection Officer in community outreach while avoiding duplications of beneficiaries and overlap in activities.
- Disseminate awareness protection messages and provide relevant information for beneficiaries while ensuring proper referral for identified cases.
- Support officer in filling registration forms, pre-post assessments and any other required tool.
- Support protection officer in the implementation of project activities (PSS and ESG sessions, in-kind distribution, Self Defense classes, events, trainings…)
- Support protection officer in data entry.
Skills & knowledge:
Experience in outreach activities, Psychosocial support, community events, data entry…
Knowledge in Protection, SGBV topics, social trends…
At least 0-1 years of relevant experience, especially at NGOs, academic organizations, standard-setting bodies, public agencies focused on protection
Bachelor’s degree in one or several of the following areas: social work, psychology or “or equivalent combination of education and work experience.”
