Description: 

Borderless NGO is currently implementing a project on community-based child protection and it is seeking to appoint an experienced Project Manager assigned with the below duties. The project location is in Ouzai, Beirut and will require daily physical field presence.

Duties/Assignments:

Oversee all project activities and be the main contact point for the donors and the field staff.

Ensure project activities comply with the policies and regulations of the donors organizations.

Responsible for overseeing the development and execution of project deliverables, lead project planning, budgeting, action plans and monitoring processes.

Responsible for submitting activity reports, meeting minutes and financial reports on regular basis to the donors.

Oversee the preparation and submission of activity-based project budgets as well as monthly financial reports and sending of new funding requests.

Lead and motivate the project team (community coordinator, social workers) and monitor project activities and project expenditure and coordinate work with volunteers in the project

Ensures close collaboration and coordination with cooperating partners to guarantee smooth implementation of activities and achievement of results as specified in grant agreements.

Employs resourcefulness in project design, implementation and monitoring. Trouble shoots project problems. Identifies and implements creative solutions.

Project Reporting and Communication  

Set a clear timeline donor reports (both narrative and financial) and coordinates the reporting process with all relevant staff, assuming ultimate responsibility for quality and submission.

Ensure that data is collected on a regular basis for timely and quality reporting, designing and upgrading/improving any required tools.

Ensure the visibility of the project as per Borderless and donor agency’s standards and requirements.

Ensure that success stories and challenges are documented.

Ensure that the project team communicates effectively with the youth and other project stakeholders.

Field Supervision and Capacity Building

Lead on the design and implementation of outreach strategies in collaboration with other project staff.

Follow-up on the daily field activities.

Conduct regular field visits to project activities/sites.

Establishe and maintain clear lines of communication with project staff and ensure internal communication is effective.

Conducts regular meetings with all project staff and the project partner.

Job Essential Skills:

Leadership and Team Management: Besides leading a team from a strategic perspective, the project manager also needs to manage from an operational point of view. The manager must be effective at administering and coordinating groups of individuals by promoting teamwork, delegating tasks, resolving conflict, setting goals, and evaluating performance. Leadership is about inspiring others to walk with you; team management makes sure your team has the right shoes.

Technological Skills: The project manager needs to be proficient in the use of Word Document, Excel, PowerPoint, and other applications. They are all used to present plans, reasons for the project, and benefits. Often, success stories are told with images and video presentation more than written reports. The project manager also needs skills in using social media to post videos and images. As well as narratives about the purposes of the project and those helped.

Public Relations Skills. The project manager needs skills in communicating clearly, crafting statements carefully, answer questions or otherwise inform the public and others about projects or the NGO. Skills in public relations also consist of highlighting the benefits and reasons for the project.

Analytical Skills: Project management requires analytical skills to assess the scope, the resources needed and the success of the project. Also, the project manager must interpret data on the project, as well as the needs or views of the people being helped, or donors solicited to support the project.

Educational Requirements:

A bachelor’s degree in management or business administration (MBA or Masters degree is a great plus)

At least 5 years’ experience in project management, PMP certification is a great plus. 

Experience in developing and implementing communications strategies

Experience in monitoring and evaluation of programs

Experience in building teams and local network

You must have the passion of serving people and the cause you will be working for.

Languages

Must be fluent in English and Arabic

Must be able to communicate in both English and Arabic verbally and in writing

Excellent English writing skills are a must
