Job Purpose: 

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Retention Support Coordinator to oversee the Retention Support Teachers Team within Basmeh & Zeitooneh. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of this Retention, along with strong leadership and organizational skills to effectively manage and coordinate educational initiatives, ensuring alignment with the Ministry of Education and Higher Education's (MEHE) curriculum and objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Curriculum Development and Implementation:
    • Develop and implement comprehensive curriculum plans for Physics, Biology, Chemistry, and Mathematics in alignment with MEHE's curriculum and educational standards.
    • Ensure that instructional materials, textbooks, and educational resources comply with MEHE guidelines.
  • Teacher Support and Professional Development:
    • Provide ongoing support to teachers in the Physics, Biology, Chemistry, and Mathematics departments, including mentoring, coaching, and facilitating professional development opportunities.
    • Organize and lead regular workshops, seminars, and training sessions focused on pedagogical best practices, MEHE's curriculum updates, and Retention-specific advancements.
  • Classroom Observation and Evaluation:
    • Conduct regular classroom observations to assess teaching methods, student engagement, and curriculum implementation.
    • Provide constructive feedback to teachers based on observations, emphasizing alignment with MEHE's curriculum and educational objectives.
    • Collaborate with teachers on implementing improvement plans and addressing areas of concern.
  • Coordination and Collaboration:
    • Collaborate with other department heads and administrators to ensure interdisciplinary coherence and alignment with MEHE's educational objectives.
    • Liaise with MEHE representatives and participate in meetings or workshops to stay informed about updates to the curriculum and educational policies (Retention support working group).
  • Assessment and Data Analysis:
    • Implement regular assessments to evaluate curriculum effectiveness and student performance.
    • Utilize data-driven insights to inform instructional improvements and ensure alignment with MEHE's educational goals.

Key Performance Indicators: 

  • The percentage of completion of the designated educational plan.
  • Participate in producing teachers’ performance charts and evaluation forms.
  • Produce the final table for students’ grades, status (passed/failed), and the percentage of passing students.

Education & Experience:

  • BA in Education
  • 3-5 years of Teaching Experience.
  • 1-3 years experience with curriculum dev and revision.

Competencies:

  • High-Level English and Arabic
  • Ability and comfort to work with Tech and Platforms
  • Ability to produce Quality Reports.

Note: This job description outlines primary responsibilities but may not cover all duties. The Retention Support Coordinator may be assigned additional tasks as needed to support B&Z objectives and curriculum alignment with the Ministry of Education and Higher Education.
