Job Purpose: 

Basmeh & Zeitooneh is looking to recruit an experienced Livelihoods Project Manager to be responsible for the day-to-day management and implementation of the Women cooperatives support and Cash for work project under B&Z FSL program. He/She is expected to lead a project team of two field officers, a social worker and trainers (consultants). The Project Manager will work under the overall guidance of B&Z FSL program manager and the technical guidance of the B&Z  Technical manager, in close coordination with the Lebanon head of programs.  The Project Manager will be responsible for the overall planning, coordination of project activities, and monitoring of project results.

Duties & Responsibilities:

The Project Manager reports to the B&Z Food Security and Livelihoods Program Manager, and will have the following tasks:

  • Prepare a detailed action plan for the project together with the FSL program manager,  Ensure project implementation is on time, target and budget, that the project targets are well understood and achieved according to the implementation work-plan, and to adapt the work-plan when required. 
  • Oversee all procurement needs in coordination with the B&Z procurement unit
  • Design and coordinate all the project activities in collaboration with the General Directorate of Cooperatives
  • Identify and train field agriculture officers in field monitoring and design of feasibility and cooperatives business plan
  • Coordinate the conduct of project training activities as appropriate.
  • Coordinate with the MoA and Directorate of Cooperatives in implementing the Directorate of Cooperatives and other stakeholders like municipalities.
  • Ensure that CFW participants are selected according to established selection criteria
  • Follow-up CFW cycles and supervise other team members during the implementation of CFW activities.
  • Ensure that the team has a good understanding of B&Z Cash for work SOPs
  • Integrate inclusive community approaches and gender sensitivity into all activities as appropriate.
  • Draft timely periodic activity progress reports to FSL Program manager
  • Collaborate with the B&Z MEAL Team
  • Ensure all activities adhere to Basmeh and Zeitooneh Gender Policy, Do No Harm principles, Safeguarding, and accountability standards.

Team Management

  • Supervise and conduct orientation and  necessary inductions for new team members as necessary and conduct performance appraisals.
  • Identify any gaps or capacity needs within the team and ensures training and capacity building is incorporated into program planning.
  • Promote accountability, communicate expectations, and provide constructive feedback informally and formally via regular one-on-ones and performance reviews.
  • Create and sustain a work environment of mutual respect where team members strive to achieve excellence and grow as individuals and as a team according to B&Z culture.

Finance Management

  • Ensure compliance with donor and B&Z  regulations and standards;
  • Oversee the pproject budget, project cash flow and expenditures and keep track of expenditures and budget versus actuals planning and reporting;
  • Ensure frequent organized meetings with finance and other support teams are conducted on a monthly basis with reviews of projections based on accurate commitments tracking, procurement plans/cost work or activity plans.
  • Provide support and prepare all payments related to the cash distributions according to B&Z standards while adhering Project SOPs.

Reporting and Communication

  • Identify success stories and case studies showing the impact of the project, and in particular impact of the Cash for work wages on the participants and women cooperatives.
  • Develop communication material for internal and external audiences in collaboration with the B&Z Communications unit;
  • Lead on and produce quality internal and external reports that are coherent and accurate with high professional standards in a timely manner. 

Representation

  • Coordinate with local actors and other cash actors during the Project implementation to avoid duplication of assistance
  • Adhere to Basmeh & Zeitooneh’ Code of Conduct policy, understanding that all team members represent the organization both inside and outside the office and should act in ways that bring credit to the organization.
