Job Purpose:

Basmeh & Zeitooneh seek an experienced Education Project Coordinator to oversee the day-to-day management and implementation of the education and protection project in El Hermel. The Education Project Coordinator will lead a project team consisting of subject coordinators, administrative officers, social workers, and a GBV case management supervisor. Reporting to the direct manager and working closely with the Lebanon Head of Programs, the Education Project Coordinator will be responsible for overall planning, coordination of project activities, and monitoring project results.

Project Cycle Management and Implementation:

  • Develop a comprehensive and detailed implementation plan, outlining tasks, responsibilities, timelines, and required resources for each project phase.
  • Coordinate with project team members to ensure seamless project execution.
  • Ensure project implementation aligns with timelines, targets, and budget, while also adapting the work plan as necessary. Refer to the direct manager for any adjustments needed.
  • Conduct regular project meetings to review progress and identify areas for improvement. Report findings to the direct manager.
  • Regularly review and adjust the detailed implementation plan to meet project objectives. Seek approval from the direct manager for any changes.
  • Conduct risk assessments and develop strategies to mitigate potential project risks. Report risk assessment outcomes and mitigation plans to the direct manager.
  • Oversee procurement needs in coordination with the B&Z procurement unit. Seek approval from the direct manager for procurement decisions.
  • Draft timely periodic activity progress reports for the direct manager and report any significant issues or deviations from the plan.

Team Management and Capacity Building:

  • Provide technical support to project staff. Refer complex technical issues to the direct manager for guidance.
  • Conduct regular performance evaluations and offer constructive feedback to team members. Discuss evaluation outcomes with the direct manager.
  • Foster teamwork, communication, and mutual support among team members. Seek input from the direct manager on team-building strategies.
  • Identify training needs and organize capacity-building activities to enhance the team & skills and knowledge. Consult with the direct manager on training plans.
  • Create and maintain a work environment of mutual respect where team members strive for excellence and personal growth, in line with B&Z culture. Seek approval from the direct manager for any proposed changes to the work environment.

Budgeting, Forecasting, and Budget Monitoring:

  • Ensure compliance with donor and B&Z regulations and standards.
  • Develop and manage the project budget, ensuring alignment with activities and objectives. Refer to the direct manager for budget approval.
  • Monitor project expenses to ensure they remain within the approved budget. Report any budget variances to the direct manager.
  • Oversee project budget, cash flow, and expenditures, tracking expenditures and comparing them against planned budgets. Seek guidance from the direct manager on budget management.
  • Conduct frequent organized meetings with finance and other support teams to review projections and procurement plans. Provide updates to the direct manager on budget-related matters.

Reporting and Communication with Donors:

  • Develop communication materials for internal and external audiences in collaboration with the B&Z Communications unit.
  • Produce quality internal and external reports promptly, maintaining high professional standards.
  • Communicate directly with donors and attend partner meetings regularly. Keep the direct manager informed of donor communications and meeting outcomes.
  • Establish connections with local communities and key stakeholders.
  • Coordinate with local actors and other education and protection stakeholders during project implementation to avoid duplication of assistance.
  • Adhere to Basmeh & Zeitooneh’s Code of Conduct policy. Seek guidance from the direct manager on any ethical dilemmas.
  • Represent the organization in relevant meetings, workshops, and conferences related to the project. Provide updates to the direct manager on meeting participation and outcomes.
