Job Purpose: The ECD and health Facilitator is responsible for delivering structured parenting sessions focused on early childhood development (ECD) for parents and providing health and nutrition awareness sessions for children aged 7-14 under the Makani Project. The facilitator ensures a safe and stimulating learning environment, promotes positive parenting, and engages children in nutrition and health education while adhering to Basmeh & Zeitooneh's safeguarding policies.

Major Activities:

  • Plan and implement structured ECD sessions for parents to enhance their knowledge of child development, positive discipline, and early stimulation practices.
  • Ensure ECD sessions incorporate interactive, culturally appropriate methodologies, including discussions, role-playing, and practical demonstrations.
  • Conduct age-appropriate nutrition and health awareness sessions for children aged 7-14, focusing on topics such as healthy eating habits, hygiene, and disease prevention.
  • Utilize engaging tools such as storytelling, group discussions, and practical demonstrations to educate children on health and nutrition.
  • Develop lesson plans that align with Basmeh & Zeitooneh’s approach and promote child well-being.

For Early Childhood Development (ECD) Sessions (Parents)

  • Facilitate interactive parenting sessions on child development, early learning, and positive discipline.
  • Teach parents early stimulation techniques, including play, communication, and cognitive activities.
  • Educate parents on positive parenting, non-violent discipline, and emotional bonding.
  • Provide psychoeducation on parental self-care, stress management, and well-being.
  • Develop and distribute educational materials such as handouts, videos, and exercises.
  • Encourage the participation of fathers and caregivers in ECD practices.

For Health & Nutrition Awareness Sessions (Children 7-14 years old)

  • Conduct interactive sessions on hygiene practices, disease prevention, and sanitation.
  • Educate children on balanced nutrition, food groups, and hydration.
  • Use practical demonstrations such as meal planning, food games, and physical activities.
  • Teach mental and emotional well-being topics, including self-care and body awareness.
  • Monitor children’s learning through quizzes, role-playing, and creative activities.

Key Performance Indicators:

  • Working within the principles of the Code of Conduct.
  • Ensuring that participants have access to the appropriate service.
  • Ensuring that the Foundation’s team interacts with participants within the principles of the B&Z, especially preserving dignity and avoiding psychological harm.
  • Achieving the required number of participants at the end of the program while ensuring the quality of work.
  • Ensure that a safe environment is provided for the child in the institution and the school.
  • Create positive communication with the team.

Education & Experience:

  • University degree in Education, Social Work, or related fields.
  • At least 1 year of relevant experience in sport and physical education.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in ECD programs, health education, or nutrition awareness, preferably in humanitarian settings.
  • Strong knowledge of child development, positive parenting, and health promotion.
