Main tasks and responsibilities

1. Conduct inclusive, age and gender- appropriate community based psychosocial support (CBPSS) activities for targeted vulnerable children and caregivers inside community centers located in Marjayoun.

2. Organize focused psychosocial support (FPSS) activities for children at medium to high child protection risks, facing significant emotional challenges and requiring additional support, primarily identified during the implementation of CBPSS activities.

3. Address difficult behaviors such as conflict, aggressiveness, and introversion by understanding their underlying causes. Use positive communication techniques to manage the situation, promote understanding, and de-escalate tensions, ensuring a supportive and respectful environment.

4. Ensure activities are carried out on schedule to guarantee the successful implementation of the project, addressing any challenges and aligning with project goals and quality standards.

5. Provide safe and confidential spaces for children and caregivers to express their emotions and concerns, while offering guidance on coping strategies and available support services. Ensure the early identification and safe referral of children in need of case management, particularly those at medium to high risk, and prioritize their referral to the case manager for timely intervention.

6. Provide, when needed, emotional and practical support through psychological first aid (PFA) for children and caregivers experiencing distress.

7. Organize community engagement activities for caregivers based on QUDWA initiatives, focusing on addressing the root causes of harmful practices against girls, boys, and women, while promoting behaviors and norms that enhance their well-being, dignity, and equality.

8. Coordinate with other CP team members, center staff, and local stakeholders to ensure a comprehensive and integrated approach to child protection and caregiver support.

9. Keep comprehensive and accurate records of all activities, ensuring that data is collected, stored, and handled in a safe and confidential manner. This includes documenting key details of each session or intervention, tracking progress, and maintaining confidentiality in compliance with data protection standards.

10. support in gathering feedback from beneficiaries, ensuring accountability to children and caregivers, and contributing to the continuous learning process to improve program outcomes.

11. Prepare and submit regular reports on child protection activities, and observed trends, while identifying gaps and recommending solutions.

12. Actively engage in all mandatory training sessions provided by AVSI and relevant sector organizations to enhance professional knowledge and skills.

13. Perform other duties within areas of responsibility as requested by the supervisor.
