The AUB Nature Conservation Center (AUB-NCC) is the leading transdisciplinary academic center addressing nature conservation in the MENA region. We leverage the expertise and experience of AUB faculties, research staff, and volunteers to tackle the region’s most pressing environmental challenges.​

Priority Areas​​​​​

• Environmental Stewardship​: Applying a citizen science approach to develop actions that address air, water, and soil contamination​.
• Community Development: Co-evaluating the beneficial impact of people’s interaction with nature and co-creating livelihood opportunities for everyone to gain from.
• Biodiversity Conservation: Applying the concept of sustainable ecosystem management to deliver a combination of ecosystem services with resilience to environmental and social change.

Principal Responsibilities

The Grant Writer will have to:

• Identify grants and development opportunities for the Center
• Create a calendar or spreadsheet of deadlines
• Write donor appeals and acknowledgment letters
• Write, submit and manage grant proposals
• Create partnerships with local and foreign organizations in order to collaborate on projects based on the center’s research focuses
• Display adherence to the organization’s mission
• Organize capacity building trainings and educational workshops for NCC staff and AUB in general

Qualifications

• A bachelor’s in a relevant field. Masters’ would be a plus
• A minimum of 2 -3 years of experience in working with local Government bodies and communities or in an NGO
• Knowledge of the Lebanese context and development processes and institutions
• Knowledge in the environmental and development sector
• Knowledge of donor and agencies such as USAID, EU etc.
• Excellent communication and inter-personal skills, team player, able to work under minimal supervision
• Very good writing skills
• Great organizational skills
• Knowledge of academic setting is a plus
• Able to work in a fast paced and flexible environment
• Ability to meet deadlines
• Fluency in English. French and Arabic are assets
