Description:

ABOUT ARK:

ARK is a social enterprise, empowering local communities through the provision of agile and sustainable interventions to create greater stability, opportunity, and hope for the future.

We believe that resilient communities are the foundation of local, national, regional and international development and stability – and ultimately a safer, peaceful and more prosperous world. At ARK, we have delivered research and programmatic interventions validating this approach in over twenty countries since 2008. As a social enterprise we work in partnership with communities, our donors, and other implementers to build local capacities, generate opportunity and bring about sustainable change.

PURPOSE OF POSITION:

The overall arching goal for this consultancy is to allow women from six Palestinian camps from across Lebanon to push back on the increase in the unemployment that has disproportionally impacted them following the COVID-19 crisis, by equipping them with digital marketing skills.

For that purpose, the consultant will work with one of ARK’s subgrantees, Ahlam Lajae (ALA), on two main components: 1) a need assessment exercise meant at defining an adequate activity plan, and 2) training a group of selected women on digital marketing tools to help them market their products.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Conduct a needs assessment with the ALA team to assist with the project plan, including planned activities.

Develop the project identity, the brand, the marketing material of the platform and the project.

Develop the website of the project as well as the relevant social media platforms in coordination with ALA.

Support the launch of the online platforms as well as train the team on the use and maintenance of the website.

Deliver at least twelve days of training covering digital marketing, filming and editing, photography, online sales techniques, and basic project and accounting management.

Develop a sales plan with the ALA team, focusing on the Palestinian camps market as well as other potental markets within Lebanon, and also a wider audience including the donor community.

SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE:

Proven expertise in digital marketing.

A strong business acumen with experience in social entrepreneurship.

An established track record of establishing online sales platforms, preferably with an advocacy approach.

A strong background in gender programmes.

Ability and willingness to work in the Palestinian camps.

The candidate may be an independent consultant, a team or an established entity.
