Anera: Call for applications Community-Based Sanitation and Hygiene Promotion Phase III

Lebanon is struggling to cope with multiple crisis affecting the deteriorating humanitarian situation. The country is facing unstable political challenges, an economic and financial crisis and the COVID-19 pandemic, all of which have resulted in significant human and financial losses. Refugees in the Palestinian camps are particularly vulnerable of contracting COVID-19 and other infectious diseases due to overcrowded living conditions, poor access to basic services, and poor hygiene and COVID-19 precautionary practices. Additionally, Palestinian’s limited access to income prevents them from covering the additional expenses related to the COVID-19 preventive material, putting them at a higher risk of contracting disease. Positive personal and environmental hygiene behaviors, in conjunction with compliance with additional COVID-19 precaution practices, such as mask wearing and social distancing, are crucial for preventing the spread of COVID-19, and similar infectious diseases, and reducing the financial burdens of poor health on households. For this reason, Anera’s is launching a “Community-Based Sanitation and Hygiene Promotion Project III” in Ein El Helwe, Burj el Barajneh, Mar Elias, Nahr El Bared, Beddawi camps which aims to aims to mobilize communities to improve practices related to the use of safe drinking water, sanitation and environmental resources are improved, along with the relevant COVID-19 responses.

   يكافح لبنان للتعامل مع أزمات متعددة تؤثّر على الوضع الإنساني المتدهور. تواجه البلاد تحدّيات سياسية غير مستقّرة وأزمة اقتصادية ومالية ووباء كوفيد-١٩ ، كل ذلك أدّى إلى خسائر بشرية ومالية كبيرة. اللاجئون في المخيمات الفلسطينية معرضون بشكل خاص للإصابة بـ كوفيد-١٩ والأمراض المعدية الأخرى بسبب الظروف المعيشية الضاغطة، وضعف الوصول إلى الخدمات الأساسية ، وسوء النظّافة والممارسات الاحترازية لـ كوفيد-١٩. بالإضافة إلى ذلك ، فإن الدخل المحدود للفلسطينين  يمنعهم من تغطية النفقات الإضافية المتعلقة بالمواد الوقائية لـ كوفيد-١٩ ، مما يعرضهم لخطر أكبر للإصابة بالأمراض. تعتبر سلوكيات النظافة الشخصيّة والبيئيّة الصحيحة ، جنبًا إلى جنب مع الامتثال لممارسات احترازية إضافية لـ كوفيد-١٩ ، مثل ارتداء الأقنعة الصحيّة والتباعد الاجتماعي ، أمرًا ضروريًا لمنع انتشار كوفيد-١٩ والأمراض المعدية المماثلة ، ولتقليل الأعباء المالية على الأفراد ذوي الدّخل المحدود  وعلى صحة الأسرة، لهذا السبب ، تطلق أنيرا  "

المشروع المجتمعي لتعزيز النّظافة الصحيّة" في المخيّمات الخمس التالية: عين الحلوة ، وبرج البراجنة ، ومار الياس ، ونهر البارد ، و البداوي

 والذي يهدف إلى تمكين المجتمعات المحلّية لتحسين الممارسات المتعلقة بتحسين استخدام مياه الشرب المؤمنة والصرف الصحّي والموارد البيئية ، بالإضافة  الى الإستجابة للأزمة الصحّية الناتجة عن كوفيد-١٩
