Tasks and Responsibilities:

  1. Abide by the target assigned in the project’s log frame with at least 30 hours per week, Monday to Friday from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm

1.1. If fieldwork (the plan of the day) was done before working hours were complete, working in the office on transferring collected data from Kobo is to be completed.

1.2. Works 4 day's on-site (fieldwork) and 1 day as office work per week.

1.3. Responsible for one’s own transportation from and to the site (field or office)

1.4. A daily plan should be prepared a day prior and ready to put into action for every working day

  1.  Clinical Psychotherapist field tasks and home visits

2.1. Diagnoses or evaluates mental and emotional disorders of individuals and administers programs of treatment; interviews patients in clinics, hospitals, and other settings and studies medical and social case histories.

2.2. Observes patients in various situations; selects, administers, and interprets intelligence, personality, or other psychological tests to diagnose disorders and formulate plans of treatment, and provides consultation to other mental health professionals with regard to test results.

2.3. Treats psychological disorders to effect improved adjustments utilizing various psychological techniques; selects appropriate treatment approach and plans frequency, intensity, and duration of the individual, group, and family therapies.

2.4. Assesses patient progress and modifies treatment programs accordingly; communicates with and counsels family members as appropriate.

2.5. Conduct at least 6-7 home visits per day, a total of at least 24-28 home visits per week.

2.6. Conduct individual therapy sessions with beneficiaries and monitor/document their progress using different scales.

2.7. Assess, identify, and treat symptoms and disorders resulting or triggered by the blast or any other traumatic incident - mainly PTSD, ASD, Adjustment Disorder, severe depression and anxiety, and/or anything related after applicants are screened at a previous stage with MH scales.

2.8. Administer psychological clinical diagnosis (Initial, and final one if present)

2.9. Provide psychological first aid (PFA).

2.10. Identify needs and interventions needed.

2.11. Fill out mental health reports/case files for each beneficiary.

2.11. Assist in the coordination of Mental Health and Psychosocial Support (MHPSS) activities among different mental health staff and with PHC staff.

2.12. Coordinate with the case-management team (social workers, community mental health workers) on the implementation of all MH interventions and activities.

2.13 Utilize the referral system between the community and PHC Centre as well as to the secondary treatment level.

2.14. Prepare awareness/training sessions about MHPSS guidelines for Primary Health Care centers. In coordination with MH Coordinator, train MDM’s case-management team as well as partner’s staff and community members on MHPSS issues.

2.15. Participate in establishing and implementing innovative PSS activities, including group support.

2.16. Commit to clinical documentation of all individual and other MH activities.

2.17. Make sure the appointments are properly scheduled and respected.

  1. Documentation, Data, Targets, and Reporting

3.1. Fill in the Kobo psychotherapist form after each visit and/or phone call

3.2. Fill in the psychotherapist list, and patient files in line with the project’s requirements

3.3. Work in accordance with the project’s log frame and targets

3.4. Attend bi-weekly meetings and report on statuses, numbers, challenges, and success stories

3.5. Report with feedback on people being referred to services outside our project

3.6. Responsible for daily reporting to the field and project coordinator with daily tasks

3.7. Writing a narrative report elaborating on numbers, tasks, and activities done mid and throughout the year

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  1. Knowledge:

1.1. MA in Clinical Psychology.

1.2. Lebanese colloquium certificate for clinical psychologists

1.3. License to practice the clinical psychology profession from the Ministry of Public Health.

1.4. A completed clinical training/practicum in a university center consisting of at least 100 hours of training under supervision and 300 hours of applied training.

1.5. Competent with Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)

1.5. Fluency in Arabic, and excellence in spoken and written English is necessary. French is a plus.

1.6. At least 2-5 years of applied clinical practice experience

  1. Skills:

2.1. Basic computer skills and familiarity with Google applications, kobo humanitarian, and Microsoft office.

2.2. Excellent interpersonal communication skills (building rapport, listening skills, and ability to communicate information in a clear way) and facilitation skills.

2.3. Interviewing skills

2.4. Have good organizational and time management skills, accountability, reliability, and punctuality.

  1. Abilities:

3.1. Ability to work in a multidisciplinary team.

3.2. Ability to build capacity knowledge and attend related training

3.3. Ability to use standardized assessment tools

3.4. Ability to maintain social and self-integrity and a sense of responsibility at all times

3.5. Ability to maintain the confidentiality of older people enrolled in project

3.6. Ability to adhere to ethical considerations and principles regarding work with vulnerable populations.

3.7. Ability to demonstrate cultural sensitivity, non-discrimination, and readiness to work with men, and women from diverse backgrounds, particularly the most marginalized segments of the community.

3.8. Ability to walk and climb stairs
