Bachelor’s degree in Education and/or teaching diploma or relevant degree. Master’s degree is an advantage.

Experience in applying formative assessment, teacher’s appraisal and coaching support;

Experience in distance learning is an advantage;

Excellent computer skills (outlook, excel, word, PowerPoint, animation, design video conferencing and online learning platforms)

Excellent Arabic, French and/or English;

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills;

Knowledgeable of the community, its geography and needs;

Ability to commute easily within one governorate;

Ability to assess challenges and make advised decision;

Capacity to implement work plans;

Working conditions

A Learning Facilitator job requires the candidate to:

be responsible for follow-up with a cluster of primary schools within the same governorate;

be willing to adapt to emergency working conditions that involve online presence and follow-up with the schools;

report to the project office upon need;

participate in all project related trainings and meetings which might ocsionally be held in the Beirut Offices;

work full time as per the Lebanese labor law while staying flexible to the project implementation needs.

Work from the American Lebanese Language Center Saida branch, and occasionally from the Beirut Offices as needed.

Scope and Responsibility

The position of Learning Facilitator is a full- time position based out of the ALLC Saida office with regular field visits in designated areas. The Learning Facilitator assumes a role dealing with a variety of groups and individuals in the school setting and with the school community (through face to face or virtual learning). In this position, a Learning Facilitator will serve as a facilitator and support working in the field with clusters of schools participating in the QITABI-2 project. The Learning Facilitator will work with school coordinators, teachers and other school staff to support and coordinate in-person and/or remotely field-based project activities, manage and disseminate resources (paper based or e-content) and collect data to improve the different teaching and learning practices as well as the school environment. He/she will report to the Lead Learning Facilitator. The focus of duty is to support and facilitate the implementation of the project that aims at improving students’ Learning performance in Primary schools in grades one to six.

The Learning Facilitator provides an important contribution to a cluster of schools in a variety of capacities.  The following areas are major points in service delivery:

Developing a comprehensive understanding of QITABI-2 outcomes, outputs and components;

Acting as a facilitator for various project activities related to face-to-face, distance, and blended learning at the school level;

Collaborating with school staff (principals, teachers, and administrators) and parents to facilitate learning and provide the necessary support to improve the learning environment at the school and create a community of learners. This includes:

Arabic, French and/or English Literacy;

Math and Numeracy;

Social Emotional Learning;

Parents’ learning circles and parental engagement;

Collecting, entering and verifying data;

Distributing and disseminating logistic resources and teaching and learning materials (TLMs)

Helping create a collaborative environment among school administrators, teachers, parents and communities at large;

Supporting SMCs, teachers and parents with resources and providing synchronous and asynchronous support;

Acting as a mediator to resolve arising conflicts with the objective of facilitating program implementation;

Performing additional tasks as needed and requested by management (including supporting with lesson drafting, uplifting of animation and aesthetics for e-lessons, attending trainings, conducting studies, and field deliveries);

Reporting to the Lead Learning Facilitator on activities, progress and challenges;
