The Inclusion Officer will be responsible for implementing the non-formal Education Programme under the supervision of the Child Protection Programme Coordinator. S/he will work to ensure the programme implementation is timely and of a high technical quality, monitoring processes are in place, timely reporting occurs, the programme is continually assessed, and solutions quickly put in place should there be a change of context.
The Inclusion Officer shall ensure that children with disabilities and learning difficulties can participate and benefit form quality non-formal education services and PSS activities. S/he will also support the teachers and CP team in monitoring the children’ progress and provide direct support to teachers and animators. Also, the Inclusion Officer will work with caregivers and provide them feedback on the progress of their children
To address the growing needs of children and youth in Lebanon, AL Midan is implementing the Makani project, utilizing a Multi-Service Community Centre (MSCC) approach across 3 community centers in the North (T5 area). This initiative aims to provide a comprehensive package of integrated services targeting marginalized and vulnerable children and youth aged 0-18 years, as well as their caregivers. The MSCCs serve as safe spaces offering a variety of programs, including education, child protection, early childhood development (ECD), life skills, and youth engagement support, all through a community-based approach. The goal is to reach both Syrian and Lebanese vulnerable children in host communities, as well as collective and informal settlements.

Protection from Sexual Exploitation and Abuse (PSEA) is everyone’s responsibility and all staff are required to adhere to the Code of Conduct, that enshrines principles of PSEA, always (both during work hours and outside work hours). Major Responsibilities:
- Program Design and Implementation:
- Develop and implement inclusion strategies that ensure marginalized and vulnerable groups, including people with disabilities, women, and ethnic minorities, are fully included in all activities.
- Integrate inclusive practices into existing programs (education, health, livelihood, etc.), ensuring equal access to services and opportunities.
- Capacity Building and Training:
- Design and deliver training sessions on inclusion, diversity, and anti-discrimination practices for staff, volunteers, and stakeholders.
- Provide guidance and support to staff on how to integrate inclusive practices into their work.
- Organize awareness-raising activities to foster a culture of inclusion within the organization and local communities.
- Monitoring and Evaluation:
- Monitor and assess the effectiveness of inclusion activities and make necessary adjustments to ensure maximum impact.
- Collect data on the participation and engagement of marginalized groups in program activities.
- Develop and maintain monitoring tools to track the inclusion of vulnerable populations in the organization’s projects.
- Reporting and Documentation:
- Prepare regular reports on inclusion activities, outlining achievements, challenges, and recommendations.
- Ensure that inclusion-related data is accurately documented and included in program reports.
- Contribute to the development of donor reports and proposals, highlighting the NGO's work in promoting inclusion.
- Advocacy for Equal Opportunities:
- Promote equal opportunities within the organization and the wider community by developing advocacy strategies that address barriers to inclusion.
- Support the design and implementation of advocacy campaigns to raise awareness about inclusion, rights, and accessibility for marginalized groups.
- Child Protection and Safeguarding:
- Ensure that inclusion programs are designed in line with child protection and safeguarding policies, ensuring that all activities are safe for children and vulnerable individuals.
- Address any child protection concerns related to inclusion, collaborating with other staff and relevant agencies when needed.
Job Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Special Education, Occupational and Speech Therapy or any other related studies.
- Fluency in written and spoken Arabic and English.
- At least two years of experience in inclusive education, preferably in an (I) NGO environment or educational setting. Prior teaching experience is an asset.
- Excellent computer skills (Microsoft Office).
- Demonstrated ability to analyze a wide range of qualitative and quantitative data and to develop data bases and data collection tools.
- An understanding of formal and non-formal Education and Education in Emergencies.
- Ability to analyze information, evaluate options and to plan strategically.
- Strong interpersonal, communication and presentation skills.
- Commitment to and understanding of Save the Children’s aims, values and principles including rights-based approaches.
