The field enumerator is primarily responsible for collecting field data. They have direct contact with multiple community members and have a great bearing on the quality of data collected and ultimately on the quality of data output.

Role and Responsibilities                                                 

  1. Attends enumerators’ training on assessment methodologies and questionnaires.
  2. Receives enumeration tools from the supervisor.
  3. Ensure high quality data collection and that assessments are conducted in a manner that respects all respondents.
  4. Conducts Interviews and/or surveys to the identified community members.
  5. Takes notes of and/or facilitates qualitative data collection during focus group discussions or key informant interviews.
  6. Timely discusses with the supervisor challenges that require immediate response.
  7. Keeps a record of the number of interviews and/or surveys conducted and report any unusual situations to the supervisor.
  8. Ensures that all questionnaires and tools are accounted for.
  9. Ensures anonymity and follow confidentiality procedures to ensure respondent privacy is protected during data collection exercise.

 Knowledge and Experience

  1. 1-2 years of experience in data collection or similar field.
  2. Bachelor University or Diploma preferred.
  3. Fluent in English and Arabic.
  4. Previous experience working with the community or experience in interviews and/or surveys.
  5. Knowledge of quantitative and qualitative data collection techniques (monitoring, observations, focus groups, key informant interviews, surveys, etc...).

 Skills and Competencies                                                                               

  1. Highly organized individual, punctual, capable of handling multiple priorities, meeting deadlines, and managing time effectively.
  2. Ability to gather information in an objective, appropriate and sensitive way.
  3. Willing to travel to field different locations.
  4. Good communication skills and experience in participatory methodology.

Demonstrated skills in electronic data collection of similar projects is a prerequisite in the selection process.

This position will be paid on a daily rate.
