Ahla Fawda's EcoHub, launched in 2023, is a community-centric space that combines environmental services with educational activities, promoting a circular economy and eco-awareness.

The EcoHub is located in Hamra, at the heart of a lively neighborhood, and offers a one-stop experience with a recycling facility, an educational space, an upcycling atelier, and a public eco-playground. The EcoHub is mostly used to host events, activities, and workshops that encourage civic engagement and sustainable practices.

Purpose:

The EcoHub Coordinator will collaborate with the Programs Manager and the Upcycling Officer to develop community-centric events related to sustainability and arts. This role places a strong emphasis on working with youth, volunteers, and community members, with a focus on execution and creativity.

The EcoHub Coordinator also develops social media content, design, and posting covering Ahla Fawda’s activities and projects.

This role directly reports to the Programs Manager and works closely with both the Operations Manager and the Upcycling Officer.

Major Accountabilities:

Activity Planning and Execution:

Collaborate with the Programs Manager and Upcycling Officer to develop community-centric events related to sustainability and creativity.

Execute events and coordinate with the different stakeholders (volunteers, partners, and beneficiaries), ensuring the satisfaction of the audience.

Measure event success and report back to the Program Manager.

Contribute to Social media content creation

Create and curate engaging content for all social media platforms, including text, image, and video content, covering Ahla Fawda’s activities, programs, and projects.

Co-develop a content calendar to ensure consistent and timely posting, incorporating relevant events, campaigns, and company milestones.

Monitor social media channels for comments, messages, and mentions, responding promptly and professionally.

Support humanitarian distribution:

Oversee the opening, distribution, inventory, and services related to food distribution at the EcoHub's Dekkene.

Welcome and introduce beneficiaries to the EcoHub, explaining the Dekkene's processes and guiding them through a dignified shopping experience.

Work closely with on-the-ground partners, including the waste unit, to ensure smooth operations and collaboration.

Availability

3 days a week, Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays

Experience

  • Demonstrated ability to work in a team and oversee the smooth operations of a community space.
  • Demonstrated experience in event management.
  • Prior experience in project coordination and collaboration (in NGOs and community-based organizations is a plus.)
  • Interest in social media content creation and design

Qualifications

  • Sustainability-driven individual, passionate about community-centric initiatives.
  • Proficient in Arabic and English (fluent spoken and written communication).
  • Strong execution and creativity skills.
  • Well-organized with multitasking skills
  • Literacy in Google Suite, MS Office.
  • Understanding of community development principles and practices.
  • Understanding of environmental sustainability issues and humanitarian help.
  • Understand fundamental principles of safeguarding, child protection, gender equality, cultural awareness, first aid, mental well-being, inclusion and working with vulnerable communities.
