Description:

BACKGROUND

Adyan Vision: Adyan envisions a world where diversity between individuals and communities is lived as enrichment, generating mutual understanding, inclusive citizenship, creative development, sustainable peace, and spiritual solidarity.

Adyan Mission: Adyan works on valuing cultural and religious diversity in its conceptual and practical dimensions, and on promoting coexistence and diversity management among individuals and communities, on the social, political, educational and spiritual levels.

Adyan Strategy: Adyan serves its mission according to a Strategic Plan that includes the Foundation’s goals and their related targets. This strategy is set and reviewed by the Board of the Foundation. It responds, with a contextual approach, to the Foundation’s mission, and connects with other wider strategies as the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDG), especially Goals 4, 5, 10, 11, 16 and 17.

Adyan implements projects across various areas, using a variety of methods. Each project, and potential project, requires a thorough development process, working closely with participants and partners, to design initiatives that are effective, efficient, relevant, achievable, and will safeguard all involved. This includes conducting analysis to understand the context and baseline, formulating clear goals and activities, and developing a monitoring and evaluation (M&E) plan.

A monitoring and evaluation plan enables Adyan, and partners, to ensure a project is on track, is achieving its aims, can be thoroughly assessed and reported on, and can provide lessons for adaptation and / or future initiatives. It also enables Adyan to be accountable to all project participants and donors.

At the strategic level, Adyan has an M&E framework that tracks the contribution of projects to the organization’s goals and targets. This is crucial in order to monitor progress towards achieving the overall strategic plan. A comprehensive online system for this framework is currently being developed.

Adyan also has a framework for communicating and learning from project lessons and results. This includes internal learning via regular workshops and M&E capacity building. It also includes external sharing of information with key stakeholders, including supporting other organisations working in a similar field.
