External Audit for “Psychosocial support, protection, and economic empowerment for women and girls affected by the protracted Syria crisis" implemented by Abaad

Lebanon has been facing multiple crisis since 2020; from socioeconomic deteriorations, to the COVID-19 pandemic, and the Beirut Blast. The collective impact has increased women and girls’ vulnerabilities and risks of gender-based violence (GBV). 

To address this, ABAAD implemented a 22.5 months’ project funded by Diakonie and the Austrian Development Agency, that aims at improving access of women and girl survivors of and/or at-risk of GBV to holistic prevention and response services in Lebanon’s North (Tripoli), Bekaa (Baalbek), and Mount Lebanon regions. 

For this purpose a bidding process was launched to contract an auditing firm to perform the below assignment:

The assignment consists of two audit reports. The first audit should be conducted for the first period from 15.09.2021 to 30.11.2022 and the second for the entire programme period 15. September 2021 to 31. July 2023. The programme amount to be audited is EUR 1.411.689,63 (excluding audit costs). The audited reports must show the total programme costs.

The auditing firm is asked to:

• Check that all expenses are recorded in the NGO’s accounts and are backed by original documents;
• Check if financial transfers (bank, cash) are understandable and in line with reported expenditures (including usage of confirmed exchange rate EUR/USD and LBP
